ME sufferers.. isn't there a ME support board in the health forum ? There's a low carb one there which I belong to. If there isn't why not start one cos it would help you and you already *know* each other from this thread.. just an idea..
I wanted to try the ghee this morning but eek no mushrooms. I'm on shopping strike as OH now owes me loadsa money I've paid out for shopping £££ now. Told him I'll do Waitrose online shop when he transfers dosh. It takes one phone call is free and it would be in my account within 2 hrs so getting tired of excuses
So NSD for me.
Have discovered that some of the recipes on the Wing Yip website are low carb yay.0 -

I like the Lidl bread mix too - it is really nice and works out quite cheap.
Hi Angelc - that lasagne sounds lovely!
hi Londonmum!
Am in real panic about my finances today. Need to have a good few NSD's but it is hard. Had to give DD2 a cheque for £100 towards her school trip this morning (£680 for a 7 day trip to Prague:eek::eek:), and yesterday she lost her (uninsured) blackberry which has four months left on the contract so I will have to pay £100 for an early upgrade. In addition I had to give DD1 £20 as she had run out of money and council tax is due.
Breakfast today was toast and philly light, lunch was soup and ham sandwich and tea tonight will be pork steaks out of the freezer with savoury rice and salad.
Last night I made 20 jam buns and froze them individually to use for packed lunches and I also bought a water bottle in Homey B so that I wouldn't have to keep paying out for pack lunch drinks for DD2.
If I had the money I would go and stock up with the Branston beans but i have 8 tins in the cupboard from the other day, and they tend to come on offer quite regularly.Jane

Afternoon all. What a miserable day it is today. Oh well, at least the farmers will be happy.
Had an absolutely gorgeous lunch, thanks to Lynsey. Cooked my prawns with garlic olive oil, chopped garlic, a sprinkling of chilli and sea salt. It was fab with the salad leaves. So simple, but the best thing I've made in ages. Made a lemon and garlic oil dressing for it.
Cleaned out the bathroom and started sorting ds' toys out. Going to chuck a few as it's his birthday in just over a month. Think I'm going to send some down to my parents as well.
Just had a cherry yoghurt with some special k and coco pops sprinkled in it, was very nice.
Don't know what I'm having for tea. Lunch was so nice that I know I'm going to be disappointed by whatever I make lol. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Spent a few pennies today but had a result in Asda with the hand-wash coupons.

Tried my luck on a s/s till and asked fisrt, "No problems" she said. There was a problem though, they wouldn't scan and asked for the other barcode to be scanned?? There was only 1 barcode!! Anyway, put through manually, so 3 hand-washes for free as 3 for £3 offer. lol
Spend £2.60 on 2 packs of Branston beans and some more bread flour.
Also got 2 packs of Nature's Finest snacks for free with £1 coupons and got 10p off shop as only 95p per pack. Bought 4 bottles of red wine, reduced to £2.50 per bottle, so only £9.90 with the 10p off.
Asda - £2.60 on budget shopping.
Lidl - got my milk there for £1 and 3 packs of biscuits, chocolate digestives (59p), ginge nuts (29p), rich tea (23p).
£2.11 spent there and £4.71 budget in total.
Might not go back out, but fancy trying the hand-wash coupons in Sainsbury's!!
Lip_Stick - glad you like the garlic prawns, expensive taste though. lol

Lip_stick the prawns sound lovely! Did you use raw or cooked prawns? I have never dared buy the raw prawns as I am scared of getting food poisining - don't really know why.
i have had a sort through of the stuff in cupboards and am pretty sure that i can manage without that much in the way of shopping until the end of the month. I have £40 in my purse and would love to be able to make that last until 30th, but I am not sure I will manage it! I am going to set myself a challenge to do it, starting now.
You won't believe it but just as I was writing this DD2 came in and asked if she could go to the pictures this evening - so that is £2.60. I have told her that she has to do a search of all pockets and down the sides of chairs etc and see how much she can drum up, plus she will have to take snacks and drinks from home, which she is not pleased about. I have just helped her look and we found £4!!Jane

Just had my 1st comp win.
Only a pub main meal for 2 (not a car or holiday even), but a win - thanks for the inspiration.
Saves another meal day, haven't booked the Groupon yet, so might do this one 1st.

Evening all
Just booked a room with a Tunes Hotel at Kings Cross. £9 for one night. They're having a sale as it will be newly opened. More dates, i.e. sept-nov are being added on the 20th. Think I can get away with saying ds is 4 on the train down there? He is rather short lol and still small enough to sit on my lap.
Will have to save up for my London trip now! Last time I went (with just the ex) I got in a lot of places 2-4-1 as we went by train.
Decided to have Moroccan lamb from the freezer with couscous. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Freezer is looking more spacious now.
Lynsey - Yes the prawn dish works out a tad expensive. Will send you the bill! Well done on your comp win tho! Good that you've won so early after starting them. Congrats.
Edwardia & Jane - Yes it was nice. Will definitely be on the lookout for whoopsied prawns now. They're easy to cook Jane from raw, you know they're cooked as they change colour (although used cooked this time and fried them). There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
