Thanks, started my day with a smile.

Dilemma day today!! Do I buy 10+ packs of Nescafe and have my biggest weekly spend of the year by far or do I stay away?? Not really been in this situation this year so far and it's a tester!! I think I'll go to Morries early and buy the coffee IF they have any left AND it's still half-price. 2 positives - I'll only be using up unused budget and I'll save in the long term (hopefully).
    ....................we'll see!!

Roast pork for dinner tonight, with stuffing - same tomorrow. Looking forward to the crackling.

Toast for breakfast and not too sure what else, probably just snack or maybe fruit and that cream - calories, calories, calories.

Trying NOT to fill my freezer spaces today. lol

Lynsey, why not buy half the amount of coffee you intend to buy? That way you get your bargain and save a bit too. A win win. And I bet the coffee will be on offer again somewhere by the time you've used it all up.

Freezer situation today - took out a HM cheese & onion pastie for tomorrow's dinner - in the space went - cooked chicken drumsticks - left over yesterday. Also managed to fit in some cooked pizza that was lurking in the fridge. Result - still got a full freezer.

its hard emptying the freezer, the chilli i took out for last nights meal has now been filled with leftover rice, i left oh by himself (i went on a walk with a friend) phoned him and asked him to put some rice on to boil, i'm sure he thought he was cooking for 10, only two of us were eating chilli and rice:mad:
i will reuse the rice at another time for something, left over chilli i will be taking with me this evening in a wrap with some cheese and salad.

Having read Lynsey's post wondering how much I will save a year with 2 people not drinking instant coffee
    That's one sacrifice too far!

Far from it, for years it's been easier for me to eat a bar of chocolate rather than cook a meal :o.

I'd go ahead and buy it, you'll always use it up. I love my tall lattes, even restricting myself to one a day coffee doesn't last long! I don't have a Morrisons nearby, otherwise I would be seriously considering violating my self-imposed food shopping ban.

My washing is nearly done, will do another batch tomorrow...now it's getting warmer I'm going into super-washing overdrive! I've got enough capsules for another 15 washes, plse let me know if there are any good bargains available?

But what if it's not?? :(
Nescafe is my preferred choice and try not to pay more than £2.50 per 200g. Spoilt last year as Sainsbury's dumped loads of Nescafe Black Gold (200g) for under £1.80 per jar and bought loads...........obviously drank loads also!!!
Logic does seem the offers will come again, maybe somewhere else??
I've got just over 1kg, so not short at the minute and Morries have messed up my plans as the offer should have ran until 29th April!!
Plan was just to get a few per week and max up in the last week.

OK, you've talked me into it. ;)

Maybe not even an option, may have been pulled or not in stock!!! Naughty Morries. :(

    Washing powder/liquid/capsules?? - visit Lynsey's corner shop. :p

Morning all. Weather doesn't know if it wants to rain or shine here. Yesterday I had a nsd... didn't buy any booze! Won't be the same today as it's the theatre so I'm going to have to eat out I think, hopefully Nando's. Going to be a bit awkward as the show starts at 5pm so not sure what to do at fitting meals around it.

Might nip into tescos to see if I can pick up any of those ready meals on grabbit.

Had sausages and mash yesterday with onion rings and corn on the cob all from the freezer.

Edwardia - my mam is the same with blood pressure and salt. I caught her putting loads on her salad! Mind you, I am a bit of a salt fiend but my blood pressure is fairly low.

abitofhelp - the rice will come in handy for doing fried rice dishes as it's best cooked from being cold.

    Morning all !

Kettle packed up and I'm soo fed up with cheapo plastic ones that I bit the bullet and ordered a Dualit one from Nisbets for £70 odd.. I know, I know.. but think of all the money I won't be spending on Nescafe and sweeteners.

Thanks for all the best wishes re: my mother she's a very unhappy bunny at the moment at the thought of reducing bread consumption...it's OK for her to nag me about blood sugar even though actually I'm 99.9% good but not OK for me to point out that she stuffs bread, uses stock cubes etc.<sigh>

Was supposed to be doing contact lense trial today but their IT system lost my appt. So no trip to Aldi :( It's a big one and I'd never been there before.

Must do freezer book today and put money on Grand National :)

    Have a fantastic day xxxx

Afternoon all! I left the house with £2.33 in the purse yesterday and it is still all there today. Tomorrow I will need to go shopping but it will not exceed £10 (hopefully). Relieved the cupboards of a focaccia mix and a packet of naans to go with some hm soup for lunch which fed six of us nicely.

Dinner tonight is going to be a chicken style bake with somekind of imaginative veg/potato arrangement which I have still to imagine.

Hope that everyone is having a satisfying day.
