Well done katskorner !
Having read Lynsey's post wondering how much I will save a year with 2 people not drinking instant coffee, sugar or sweeteners..0 -
I'm hoping my Morries still have the Nescafe refills on offer. Was shocked when I went in on Sunday and the £1.79 price was gone and a £3 one was on the promo display instead.
Checked back on the website and it still was showing as £1.79 so I will check again tonight.
They did this with the Mccain pizza fingers recently. Checked the website and they were on offer, got in store - full price. I'm a stickler for checking the small print for dates, too. Should have been on offer. Don't know what my Morries is playing at!AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

OH has decided the weather looks good enought o bbq tonight, so I have taken out a single rack of ribs, some marinated chicken wings and some sausages. Can't see a gap though.
We've fetched the cat - she really really hates us:( she's recupperating in the spare room.
It was a grand total of £219.19  and they asked if we wanted to spend an extra £53 sending the lump they removed away for tests. I think we'll take our chances.I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

cooking a lovely meatball pasta dish from freezer meat for tonight but had to nip to get mushrooms as had run out. ended up getting lots of YS stuff and when I got back the kids asked if I would let them have the kids roast dinners I had just bought (£2.20 down to 66p each) because it would be quicker than waiting for me to cook the meatballs - so they are getting those and we get meatballs later. nuts. heehee.:rotfl:
I guess that earlier control went out the window but hey - it was yellow stickered!:j3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

My mother called me this evening, she had high blood pressure evidently and now it's sky high
So I looked up the Blood Pressure Association website and the first thing it says is cut out the hidden salt in your food... oh dear, one unhappy carb-loving mother. No bread, no ready meals. I'm gonna have to nag her cos she has high cholesterol as well and still stuffs cream. I thought vegetarianism was supposed to be healthy ??
OH forgot to defrost any food so we've got grilled pork loin chops with green beans for dinner with olives and pesto and vine-ripened cherry tomatoes.0 -

Spent just £1.37 tonight, 4 pints of milk for £1.18 and some extra thick double cream reduced to 19p - nothing worth grabbing in Sainsbury's tonight...........thankfully.
cheerfulness4 - you've got me worried now about the Nescafe, might go early tomorrow to check.
Edwardia - hope your Mother is ok.

Was good today, went into Tesco to get mince for spag bol tonight & didn't buy anything else :T
The weather's been temperamental here! Went to the local garden centre with a friend. She got a lovely bird feeder & I got some strawberry plants, which were pretty good value. Lusted over the greenhouses....shame I've not got (at least) £500 going spare0 -
Freezer situation today - took out a HM cheese & onion pastie for tomorrow's dinner - in the space went - cooked chicken drumsticks - left over yesterday. Also managed to fit in some cooked pizza that was lurking in the fridge. Result - still got a full freezer. :eek:Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
