    hi everyone!

not a NSD but spent just 9p in Asda this morning on the paper, 2 big bottles of milk, tabasco sauce and some aspirin (to push it over £4 so I could use my coupons). Love coupons. Need to get a fresh supply though.

Dinenr tonight for boys was left over meatball tomato mascarpone with pasta from last night. We are having chicken breast garlic kievs from the freezer with salad and maybe indulge in a few wedges (feeling a need for carbs to get me better).

Been ill all week and not feeling too much better DS1 had it last week and shared when he got well. Gotta love him!

Doc said I could have antibiotics if I really feel rubbish but managed to hold off as don't want them unless I really can't beat this quickly - got a script if I get desperate. Missing my running and was planning a couple of decent runs last week too. No chance till I can actually breathe easily again. :(
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Thanks, thinking of it as an investment.................better than your National "investment". lol (sorry)

BTW, did you get your takeaway you planned??

Sad news and something I feared. Can it continue in the current format??
Glad to see you recovering, step by step and you'll get there.
Braver than myself stepping on scales!!! Scales are for fish!!!!

No further spends, Sainsbury's had nothing of value again and not much reduced. They need to get their act together!!! :D

Florenceem - hope your hubby is OK.
" lots of different saving pots/bags" - love it, your posts have given me so much fun today - thank you.
BTW, have you ever used eggs with your bread-making?? Supposed to give a softer loaf?? Milk also, but no success when using milk in the bread-maker!!

Fingers crossed for the Lotto roll-over.

I put a mixture of water and milk in my loaves cooked in the BM.

What order do you put the items in??
I've had 2 disaster so far........though the birds seemed to enjoy my failures!!!
I've been using 450g flour and 250ml water with a packet of yeast and a little oil. I tried 200ml water and 50ml milk and some butter and didn't rise!!

katskorner - well done with your shop, recover quickly though - too many ailments this year!!

Glad you're feeling better Kirri :) But throwing things out of the freezer??

I know, something else I thought she was going to take and use and it got tipped down the sink before I could say anything!! Though as my mum has been doing my shopping too there is more lovely, fresh food in my fridge than there has been all year :D

I don't know, don't see it going away but as one was a favourite it will get a lot of publicity and they may have to do something more now. Can't even bear to watch it :(

I'm not getting back on the scales for a while till my body is back to normal!! I thought it was just the carbon dioxide still making me big, didn't realise it was fluid as well or whatever it is swishing about inside me _pale_ even my feet have got bloated today :(

    Just had some more fruit.

Lot of effort for that result :rotfl:

What does the milk add to the recipe??

Try beer, there's a great recipe for porter bread in this that I really liked (though it's not particularly money saving given the price of a good ale/porter etc).

Supposed to give a softer bread.............just stops the dough from rising in my experiences. lol

Hubby's got some stout, may try that.

Lol I won't try it then.

(I have a guilty secret liking for M&S crusty sliced bread this week seeing as it's been bought for me, makes lovely toast).

Your OH might be disappointed if he sees a bottle of his stout turned into yet another loaf of bread of course :D

Evening all.. Back from my outing at the theatre.. ladeeda. The Chuckle Brothers have driven me to drink, well that's my excuse for giving in so early. :o Ds really enjoyed it, he was dancing around at the end, but then again so was I! He's at mam's now so a lie in for me!

For lunch we went to a Thai restaurant.
On the net it says for the lunch menu 'one course - soup, starter and main - £4.95'
'two course - soup, starter and 2 mains - £7.50'
There was some confusion to what you actually got and the woman wanted to charge us the £4.95 for just a main. I showed her the web page on my phone so got the starter in the end included for the lower price. Wouldn't have been worth £7.50 tho as the portions were tiny, but I think they were probably done like that on purpose lol.

Glad I missed the National, hate that race. Animals dying just for peoples enjoyment is wrong!!!

Wondering if I should order a kebab for tea. ;) Not had tea, only had choc coated peanuts in the theatre.

Edwardia - careful you don't lose an eye opening that book!

katskorner and kirri - hope you're both feeling better soon.

Florenceem - Sorry to hear about your MIL, hope all goes as well as expected at the funeral

Lynsey - you think the chuckle brothers are posh? You've gone down in my estimation!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
