If you have any: bicarbonate of soda can work:
Mix it with water to form a paste & pour it over wherever the sick was (which sounds like everywhere _pale_) rub it in & leave as long as you can stand it then hoover it up. I unfortunately had a cleaning job where I had to do this after an office party :( So glad I don't do that anymore!
  • BE - hope your little one is feeling better. I always use Vanish for the sick, although I find it really hard to clear up as it makes me gag! I usually clean it up and then put the vanish mousse on and leave it and then clean it up and dettol the area.

Edwardia - My Mum was like yours - we went to school no matter what - my Mum figured if we were sick enough they would send us home! I went in with all kinds - never got any sympathy no matter how ill we were!!

Lip-stick - the Chuckle brothers are quality!!

Lynsey et al - I don't know how you all eat Quorn - firstly I am allergic to it because it makes me go all bloated but the texture of it sets my teeth on edge!!

NSD today until DD asked for money for the pictures tonight.

Breakfast was toast and bacon for us all, lunch was tuna and sweetcorn pittas and dinner was chicken breasts marinated in curry powder, mango chutney and lemon juice and roasted in the oven, with hm savoury rice and I have just eaten some leftover macaroni cheese from yesterday. Feel sick, although that may also be because I ate the Aldi chocolate bunny I got for my friends kid for Easter too:o The whole bunny. In one go.

Funds are dire, as per usual - haven't got anything for the kids for Easter, and haven't got any meat for Easter Sunday dinner yet. Might just do chicken breasts roasted with stuffing and all the roast dinner trimmings, as I have all that in the fridge/freezer/cupboards.

Hope you are all not too cold. It is freezing here but no snow as yet. Hard to believe it was so hot last week!

I don't seem to make any space in my freezers. :(
Two - a small chest one and a small upright one. For example - last night Mr F took out a pack of salmon and a dinner's worth of HM Toad in the Hole. He filled the empty space with a tub containing HM cheese/tomato quiche.
Tonight I made a salmon quiche with aforementioned pack of salmon - plus half a tub of left over single cream. The quiche made six portions - we ate two for dinner - so now - where do I put the remaining quiche?
I can leave one days ie two portions in the fridge to have as Friday's dinner. Thursday's dinner is already sorted - HM TitH.

Just been catching up on the past week or so. SOOOO jealous of all your bargains. After an alcohol-free birthday (looking forward to the end of Lent), I stocked up on some lovely BOGOF sparkling wine, ros! and white, about €5 a bottle - 8 bottles is probably a bit OTT, but hey, catching up to do :-)

As for the rolls/buns/baps question, we used to call them cobs, at least the hard ones were called that. Can't remember what the soft ones were called since we didn't have them lol.

Very envious of the new bed BE - I've been planning on one for the past two years but just not got around to it.

I'm very tempted to attempt strawberry plants on my little balcony but fear the pigeons will get them. The poor lady downstairs has them trampling all over her geraniums. She even found an egg one year!!!

My freezer is also now stuffed as I made the most of my wine shop and got BOGOF fish fillets, oven chips, frozen mash, spinach, and sausages from my special order to stop me eating them all quickly.

I'd love to try quorn, but they don't have it here. I did try that dried soya protein, which isn't too bad at all, but have since read that it's not something to be eaten often ...

If it's any consolation, the weather's gone chilly and damp here too, even though I'm further south than anyone. Ah well, we'll all appreciate the good weather when it returns.

I meant to say that I discovered a yummy idea accidentally - i.e. hungry but lazy, so wanted something quick with no cooking.

Wraps with branston pickle, cheddar and fresh fennel. Oh my life - what a treat. Just thought I'd share that life changing discovery.:rotfl:

    Morning.

Jane - I normally break mine into little pieces first, easier to eat!! :D
Quorn is just something to try, attempting to do 2 veggie days per week for this quarter and looking for variation. I'll keep an eye out for veggie bargains. Non-veggie stuff is still plentiful.

Sofiaki - nice to see it's not just us getting a change in the weather. lol
BTW, when we flew to the Algarve last week, the weather was glorious and when flying just west of the Channel Islands and passing northern France, Brest, especially the southern part looked really lovely and some massive impressive beach stretches. Looks a nice place to holiday, wish we could get a cheap flight to north west France and have a look at the Brest and Nantes area. Do you/have you visited this area for the beaches??

Back on track and veggie day number 2.
Toasted tea-cakes for breakfast and stir fry later, Quorn or no Quorn. Maybe a cheese omelette??
No meat tomorrow either as it's Good Friday, prawns and fish. I was thinking of another stir fry with garlic prawns, but 2 stir fry's in a row?? Fish-cakes probably also for lunch - might try and find those 10p mushy peas from Aldi - got some peas in though.
Easy day on Saturday, might get a pack of Lidl half-price lamb shanks and turkey joint from Xmas (out of freezer) for Easter Sunday - under control, well almost!!
Short on biscuits, look for some choccy offer ones later.

    Morning all!!

Fully stocked fridge in the bramble household once more, still lots of room in the freezer - may take a trip to sainsbobs and look out for some offers.

Not sure what we're eating today, got some pasta sauce to use up, may have that with quorn meatballs for my lunch. Dinner is anyone's guess!!
