    Morning all

BE just reading that makes me feel queasy, I guess it's not so bad with your own kids but I couldn't do it! Makes me feel ill myself! Must have been a bad bug to go on so long, hope you don't get it too.

B&WB tend to agree on the organic stuff, when you read what goes on in conventional farming it's very offputting.

Lynsey, are there no cheap flights to that part of France at all?

RS - must admit the texture is not something I really think about, as long as it's not a dead animal I am not too fussed! Also when I tried it the first time it was better than tofu and really convenient so I quite liked it. Agree with Edwardia though, maybe you are allergic to something in it.

Just having one of the Wrights rolls for lunch, got a bit bland after the first day so I just heated it back up in the oven. With more of the Quorn beef slices and Tyrrells crisps.

Didn't have breakfast, found out at short notice I'm going in for an op next week  so I have totally lost my appetite and the weight is already dropping in fear lol. Will continue to make myself eat a couple of meals a day though at least even if I don't want it but it's now even harder to eat things I don't fancy from the freezer! Not doing any food shopping for myself but will need some veg for the pets. Need to get some *gulp* ready meal type food for after though  Trouble is my freezer is full so I can't fit anything else in there so might just nip to Asda and see if they have any pizzas in with long dates as they used to do a nice one in the Best range or whatever it's called. Or maybe M&S and treat myself as the more appetising the food is the better..

Afternoon all! Just enjoying a nice latte with 2 Penguin bars generously donated by my sister...needed some sugar to get the brain going. Minestrone is defrosting in the fridge if I fancy it later. The panettone finished yesterday, which for me is quite an achievement as I can usually demolish a whole one over the course of a day without even noticing :o. Restricted it to 4 brunches and back on the Weetabix tomorrow.

B&WB - like Kirri I don't eat meat (nor fish) so bargains are generally limited to fruit and veg, which I usually go to the stall for anyway.

25 days before I buy food from a supermarket....my craving for sweeties is driving me nuts!! It does mean I'm using my baking stash up though! I think plum crumble will be on the agenda this weekend, as I bought 6 giant ones from the stall last week, none of which are showing any signs of ripening.

ETA: Kirri I hope it's nothing serious? Try not to stress about the surgery.

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Trying to keep warm round the fire as its still so cold but brighter. My feet are like ice blocks!

Had a HM roll with pate for lunch but then got naughty and heated up a Toffee Apple sponge (from AP foods - 99p for 3 and delish!) and had it with evaporated milk drizzled (well deluged) over it. OH MY!

Not sure what we're eating this weekend but great chance to pull some bargains out the freezer (know sunday will be a little lamb joint I got 70% off).

DH wants to bake (yippee) so I'm going to look at some ingredients from back of the larder and see what we can make. Lots of coconut, muesli, dried fruits etc. Should make some nice biscuits and fruit cake for starters. :)

Kirri - at least it gets it over with before the summer and you don't need to have it on your mind as something to dread in the future. You'll be all nicely over it soon and resting on the sofa, eating ice cream and watching dvds. ;)

Try putting them in a paper bag with a ripe banana, if that does make them ripen, nothing will.
Do you eat dairy at all?
Kirri - I hope its nothing serious. Try not to stress too much over it, lots of vitamin C is good for helping your body deal with things.

I'm feeling quite good as I've got PIL coming for dinner. We're having S&S pork made with Lid* special pork out the freezer, the last two peppers that need using by tomorrow and I'll make the sauce, we'll have it with egg fried rice (have cooked and cooled the rice) in which I'll use the last of a packet of frozen sweetcorn and some peas and we'll also have prawn crackers that I bought in B*M (the type that you fry yourself) from the stockpile. For dessert I've got a cherry bakewell in the oven, I've used a tin of cherries, also from B*M stockpile on the base and made the custard type topping that you get in the bakewells from Bakewell which is more like a set custard so I won't even need cream.:D
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

Popped into Aldi and mushy peas were NOT 10p (13p), so left them.
Bought some salad stuff and some chocolate digestives and £2.16 spent so far - hopefully pop to Morries later and check the Quorn and pick up a tub of 600ml cream for £1 - too many calories of late. lol

Kirri - firstly, hope all is ok and goes well, in fact perfectly.
Flights to northern France from Newcastle (NCL) via a cheap carrier is a no-no. Paris is best option (and hiring a car), though we might consider doing a flight from your end when visiting my son, not just to France, but to any other destination we lack from up here!!! Getting sick of the same places and fancy experimenting.

Just had cheese and leek sausages with salad, grilled onion rings and warm garlic and coriander naan bread, finished off with fruit salad and whipped cream - quite stuffed!! The sausages were quite nice, not like sausages though (only the shape), more like rissoles.

Decided to start a low carb blog, did it on Wordpress but couldn't get links to work so put it on blogsspot. Since there's all this hoo-ha about the Tesco rebranding I've given it a couple of value type brand names. Most low carb blogs are American and yawn on about molecular structure of glucose and such like.

I had the 69p dab for lunch, pan-fried. I was rinsing it under the tap, though blimey this skin feels rough and oops Morrisons hadn't descaled it. I mean, no wonder people get put off fish if they're expected to chew through the scales !

Fixing this is simple but messy so if you get this, grab a knife and scrape against the grain as it were and the scales pop out. Anyone partnered with an angler knows that this should be done - zero out of ten for Morrisons fish counter on this occasion !

Happy Easter all, hope you have a great time xx

^ yep options are quite good down here, I forget we are a bit spoilt when it comes to cheap airlines and connections to airports. My best deal was a 2p (all in) return flight :D I feel like a short break now myself.

Thanks all, not sure what is wrong and not sure what exactly they will have found/done till I come round, they are going in for a look around  It's all expensive too as I have to buy extra (larger) clothes, extra paid transport, extra ready meal food.. and I've just taken a piercing out and now I can't get the thing back in so will have to pay a shop to put them in after.. could have had a holiday for what I will end up spending! If I don't come back on by middle of next week you know it went wrong  Fed up too as had a couple of things planned on going out next week
