have a new fridge freezer coming tomorrow (well to my new house) must remeber it doesn't need filled just cause it's there :rotfl:

Fill it, fill it, fill it. lol :D

bramble1 - I've struggled today, changed my mind several times!! Putting it down to "going off the beaten track", having to think hard to having "veggie days", it's not the norm here. We do have non-meat days.............they just aren't planned!!

Got 2 packets of Quorn Fillets (£1 each) from a different Morries, a £1 tub of double cream (600ml) and 2 packs of hot cross buns from tesco - nothing else and another £4 spent - £6.16 today so far. Might try Sainsbury's later, but maybe not as nothing needed. No shopping planned tomorrow, unless passing somewhere just before closing, but again nothing needed and baking bread tomorrow. Trying to keep pennies for Saturday, though yet again, not much needed - 1 pack of lamb shanks and a pack of parsnips from Lidl is all that's on agenda (already got carrots now).

  • Evening,

well dd has brightened up quite abit & her hunger kicked in a while ago

She insisted on faggots, mushy peas & wedges (she doesn't even like peas ) I advised against this & suggested toast...

After an argument (she's defo brightening up) that lasted a good 15mins 'FINE' was my response and she has just polished it all off, excluding the peas  why ask???????

Soooooo time will tell if her stomach is ready for faggots of all things  Praying it is, that would just be to much to handle!!

Enjoyed mine also & yes I ate all my peas :p

It's all expensive too as I have to buy extra (larger) clothes, extra paid transport, extra ready meal food..
It sounds like the right time to acquire a taste for the soup in your freezer ;). MSE and light.
Try putting them in a paper bag with a ripe banana, if that does make them ripen, nothing will.
Do you eat dairy at all?
Have tried that with avocados, usually works but failed once - they were like wood! I do eat dairy, but am rationing Candia milk to cereal and coffee atm in an effort to avoid the supermarket this month. It means that I am forced to eat homemade meals from the freezer! - if there was copious milk I'd eat cereal whenever I'm hungry, just because it's so convenient.

Edwardia - post a linky to your blog?

Lynsey - I'd be interested to know how your veggie meals are going down. Are we going to convert you? :D

    "Converted"?? lol

    TBH, it's hard work!!
Totally respect though what you lot are doing, I'm struggling, struggling to decide what to meal plan. :o
    Far too expensive. :D

Next "veggie day" next Monday, hopefully better prepared by then!!

Just snacking tonight, no stir fry, that's for tomorrow.............with prawns.

Never ventured out, so missed any potential bargains..........but there'll always be another day..............hopefully.

_pale_ I struggle to want to eat that even when feeling ok lol

Did roasted veg risotto tonight as was running out of basmati but had lots of risotto rice still. Am going to try not to replace the basmati until I've used up some of the other types of rice.

Have also cleared out the cupboard of multiple types of oil as I've finished off quite a few bottles and now just have one new bottle of rapeseed and some out of date toasted sesame to use - washed the cupboard out too and managed to put an extra pan away, nice to have a bit more room.

Evening all. Well the hunt for ds' Easter egg at M&S didn't go well. They had virtually nothing in! On Where's Wally eggs and a few expensive adult ones. Looks like I'll have to get him one from Asda.

Did spend just over £7 though on a pack of biscuits and various jars, one of which is a watercress starter paste for salmon. Read the label properly when I got in and found out that I need to add cream or something, and watercress! Figured that'd be the last thing I'd need to add! No wonder it was reduced to clear.

Had meatballs and spaghetti for tea but ds fall asleep again early and hasn't woke up. Don't think he's had much to eat while with his nanna either, and didn't want any tea.

Kirri, hope the hospital appointment goes ok for you.

I saw that sauce too - and left it there! Watercress sauce without any watercress. Well done M&S!! Played a blinder there!

lol kats, that made me laugh! No wonder half that range is cheap, you have to buy and add half the ingredients. Not very 'ready-made' sauces.

    hey all.

not been on for a few days, not really been eating out of freezer, had take aways and pork from freezer, the pork went in the sc and usually my joints come out great, this one was really dry, it was whoopsied from £11.87 down to £2.87 if i had bought it at the oiginal price i would have been angry it was so dry im dreading using the other half, will leave it until im really desperate lol.

i have taken 3 muffins out for breakfasts over the next few days, also will be taking out the salmon side on sat and will take out the pork joint, its a different cut and was cheaper and the half i cooked before was really nice, so i will season that and cook on sunday ready to take tomy grandmas for sun, not sure what dinner will be like tomorrow, im out n the london eye for my god daughters vday, then off to nandos, cant wait to go on the eye, i havent been before.
