    hey all

back from a lovely day, went on the london eye and to nandos with my family, then went off for cocktails with my cousin, we ended up with sparkly top hats 1 mj glove each, dancing with the bubble man outside hamleys, using his machine to spray bubbles, lol was lovely, not had anything to eat since nandos, so while i type im munching on kettle crisps £1 from sainsburys for the big bag, will get a few more bags tomorrow, havent eaten at home today, as for lunch i had a pret a manger ham and pickle sandwich, lemon drizzle cake and a mint tea, it was a mystery shop, so technically free and got paid to go.

off to watch cheaters, hope you had a great good friday like me lol

    Morning.

Woke up feeling guilty about going out for "whoopsies" last night, even though I never got much!!
Maybe a good thing as I'm now on a mission to clear old stock and reduce what I have.
My "frugal head" must have loosened a little and I've tightened it back up this morning!!
I've got to stop filling every freezer space which becomes available and that stops from today. I need to buy 2 packs of Linda Mc sausages for my "veggie days" and hopefully that's it!! Only top up with a little bread type stuff to use during the week (convenience).
I was going to buy some of the Lidl lamb shanks this morning, but not now and will pick up some cheap parsnips later from Lidl.

Food-wise today, toasted hot cross buns for breakfast, I'm having more garlic prawns with a salad and hubby is having lamb chops, probably with new potatoes and salad. Tonight, I'm not too sure yet, maybe snacks like spring rolls and other bits??

cherrypies - that was the type of stuff I used to buy for son, many years ago when he first started being a veggie. I remember Beanfeast. lol
I might try the veggie burger mix??

Morning all!! Had a NSD yesterday and hoping for another one today :)

I had a WW pizza out the freezer for dinner last night in the end, OH didn't eat. Today the plan is cereal, lunch with be soup or jacket potato I think, and dinner No idea as usual!! Something easy I think, maybe a HM curry.

pipers down to £3 for a 20kg which is the cheapest they've ever been
Wow, that is a bargain! How long do they last for in your home? (Is it a 2 adult, 3 child household?).

Saw a new thread this morning: New kitchen, time to declutter. Much as I'd love a new kitchen (extended of course :D) it made me think that even with my dwindling supplies of food it must be a real nightmare to organise, esp with a family....

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

I know the ones i got we're £3.50 for 20kg so still really good, we usually get pipers at £5-£6 depending on the season, however a new fruit a veg shop has opened in town that are selling navan spuds for £2.75 for 20kg but we don't like navan, i'm assuming there trying not to loose customers as spuds and pies/pastrys are there biggest seller. They last us about 3 weeks sometimes slightly less and yeah theres 5 of us.

I'd love a new big kitchen the kitchen i'm moving to is slightly smaller and the ceilings are low so i don't even have the tops for storage.....one day i'll have a lovely big kitchen in a lovely big house all of my own :)

Plan for today was suppose to be pancakes for breakfast but hubby ran off to get parts before we even got up so kids had cereal and we'll have pancakes for lunch, dinner is either takeaway (if the in laws will buy us one, we're really hoping we havent had one in several weeks and suffering from withdrawal:rotfl:) if not it's chicken, leeks, mushrooms and red onion in cheese sauce, with pasta, hubbys not keen on pasta so i'll just give him a wee bit and a handful of chips.

Lots of cleaning, skip runs and moving stuff to my mums attic today, come tea time i'll prob be dead on my feet lol.

Trying to cheer myself up by planting some bean seeds, looking forward to the scarlet flowers eventually. lol
My kitchen is not massive, about 15m2, but used to have a small kitcken and it makes life hard, much easier to move about now.
quintwins - you'll get your dream kitchen one day.

^ It's an inspiring time to change having a new kitchen - though I had my new kitchen and then cluttered it up! I'm now trying to get it back to how it was when I got it..

Come to realise though it's not food items as such to be used up, in fact I now have very little actual meal stuff, my cupboards are more cluttered with multiple, similar, ingredients for baking or random ingredients for cooking meals, some of which I use very rarely so whatever I eat hardly makes any space - going to take ages to clear it!! I've rejigged my spreadsheet and could still make 60 ish meals from my stocks, why the hell do I want that much stuff cluttering up the kitchen!! It would be a nightmare if I moved.

I'm going to get rid of the tins and jars as I don't tend to buy that sort of stuff anymore (will stick to mostly fresh items in future) - that will make a small amount of space.

Totally clear down the freezer apart from any new surplus home grown veg and the occasional Quorn offer. I find a lot of frozen foods don't taste half as good as fresh so I am not enjoying my meals as much as I could be.

Clear the multiple jars of half used condiments from the fridge and have less of them in the future - I'm only ending up eating them out of date at the moment..

Keep only the open packets of dried items ie I won't buy a spare till something has all gone and I really want it for another recipe. Again I am using things up that are well out of date.

Had 1 meal and a yoghurt yesterday, lack of appetite continues!!
Nothing so far, will have an egg muffin though today as I didn't eat that in the end the last couple of days.
Going to Waitrose/M&S later probably to find some appetising but healthy, veg heavy, easy ready type meals for next week. £££

I'd love a bigger kitchen. Do have a big utility that houses all the white goods including the fridge - a pest because I have to trot down 2 steps for a drop of milk. Fine for the others but not great with dodgy knees. :(
I've developed a taste for black tea now. :p

I used to love Beanfeast! Was veggie in my teens and early 20's and lived on it. Used to have the burger and sosmix from the health store, too. Think supers sell it now, tho.

Had some crumpets for brekkies that were reduced and mum treated us to a quiche she found reduced in Morries yesterday so thats lunch sorted.:D

I don't fancy cooking today so I think I might go the spring rolls route too tonight with snacky bits. One still down but feeling better, if not a tad fragile tummy wise.
Rest of us eating all the treats in case we're next!

spent a good half of the monthly budget already this week but really stocked up. Going to be extra careful from now on with only fresh veg, yogurts, milk and french breadif I can help it for the rest of the month. Freezer bursting as are cupboards and fridges. Might need to buy catfood at some point.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!
