Morning all - Sounds like everyone is having some lovely meals today. Off to the folks and I think it's lamb. There best be a pudding or I'll be really disappointed even though I'm not feeling very hungry as I pigged out last night. Mind you, dinner will probably be about 2pm.

Need whole milk for ds but nothing else. Dad bought some lamb shanks round the other day from Lidl, looking forward to trying them soon.

Lynsey - my head is.... a bit fuzzy, I'll say. Not too bad.

    cheerfulness4 - What's a deli brawn?

quintwins hope your head is feeling better.

Edwardia - meant to answer the Meercat question the other day, didn't see any in Tesco but then I wasn't looking for um. Ds has far too many stuffed toys that I want rid of! lol

Right best get ready, dad's gunna be here in 15 mins!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Morning all! Happy Easter! No eggs for me :( I got OH one though.

I'm out for dinner tonight, but OH is having beef stir fry. Will do roast chicken tomorrow I think.

Off for Easter walk with friends before our Mexican meal.

    Have A lovely day all!

Morning all, heads feeling abit better still abit fuzzy (i hate that feeling) but hopefully it comes to nothing.

We got a box of creme eggs each from mil and the kids got wellies a t-shirt and a few wee bunny of dfferent types and a creme egg each, so no over indulging just yet.

Hubby says mil is doing turkey i don't like lamb (which is what they used to have at easter before i came along lol) altho i'd be happy jsut to eat no meat, but she knows i don't liek it so always does me something else :) she's gonna be cooking for 10 today i don't envy her or anyone else cooking for loads, i love cooking but when your standing peeling loads of spuds and preping loads of veg it sorta takes the sparkle out of it does it?

Ok plan for today is cereal for the kids for breakfast (and 1/3 of the lo pancake each) me and hubby had toast, lunch at mil, dinner for the kids is gonna be the lo battered chicken with spagetti, and me and hubby will prob have beans on toast or something quick and small maybe a baked tatie.

Happy Easter everyone don't eat to many easter eggs-btw my local tesco are acually open today, it's only an express tho and it's only a few hrs.

Happy Easter all! Just treated myself to the most delicious brunch:
    - 1 weetabix with cold milk (had to be done, just 13 to go now so the end is well within my sights :D)
    - 1 slice of multigrain toast with a slice of hot falafel loaf and lots of tomato ketchup
    - 8 chunks of Cadbury's caramel from a big bar
    - a handful of almonds
    - 1 Perfectil tablet
    - big mug of bolied water

Am totally fuelled up for the day, now in search of the Sunday Times as I'm sick of reading it online....

Its brawn (pork in a stiff jelly really) thats sold in the deli counter at Morries. I do love it altho its not a patch on the brawn dad used to make when I was little. Still remember him getting a half pigs head from the butcher and boiling it up. :p

Just found in fridge that I also got a 12 pk of muller fromage frais for 19p that I forgot about. :D

Now cooking for only 4 as DS1 had to beg off as baby been screaming for hours and worn them out. The joys of littlies sometimes. :rotfl:

Wish now I'd got out the smaller joint of lamb which I'd originally planned as they weren't coming then changed their mind. Now back to them not coming. Grrr. I'll never get my little joint. :(

Fed up, stuck in doing all the house cleaning, tidying and washing etc in prep, want to be out enjoying Easter!!

Finished the pineapple and an orange last night.
Today I've just had the rest of the salad with pitta and houmous, could get used to this non cooking lark, it's so lovely and quick!
Light dinner tonight, maybe omelette or stir fry followed by more fruit or yoghurt.
Going to buy more fruit, salad, houmous and pitta tomorrow and maybe another ready prep stir fry, not too much though in case I don't eat after. Apparently a GA slows your bodily functions down after so want to try and combat that with diet and also the more solid type food you eat the more likely you are to be sick after.. my freezer food is off the menu this week! (though soup would be a good thing to eat but mine may be too spicy luckily!).

I feel like I am on a 'diet'!

I was a strange little girl. I was mesmerised. :p Think it was the snout.
Never was very squeamish when it came to food. Was brought up to eat all the bits and bobs of animals that often get thrown away now.
    Even the dog ate 'lights.'

What was 'lights'? Was that tripe or something? Used to feel ill when our dog had that or the giblets..

I did eat meat back then but only if it had no tubes or bits in.. and never ate unusual meat like game if it was brought home - I probably should have been veggie as a child but it wasn't something I really knew about back then and there wasn't a choice of meal as such like kids seem to get now with the abundance of food, back then you either ate it or you didn't!
