Urgh that's even worse, even our dog never had that thankfully!!0 -
Lynsey - my head is.... a bit fuzzy, I'll say.
No change there then..........as per normal!!
Sorry, just kidding and hope you enjoyed you meal out.
Bit of a disaster with the 25p swede, cooked for ages and ages and it would NOT soften, were originally going to have mashed swede. Had to improvise and made mashed potato (with butter and double cream) and minted peas - worked out fine in the end though..........thankfully.
Apple crumble was lovely though. So was the £2.25 turkey breast roast (stuffed and layered with bacon) - I bought this as an emergency to use for Xmas in case I couldn't have found a cheap crown and TBH, this would have done fine - easy 5 to 6 portions.
Loving your "discussion" on animal bits, brings back some memories, cow heels, pigs trotters, tripe etc, not for myself, but hubby's Father used to buy this "stuff". I remember him buying spleen for the dog to eat!!!!!!!!
Looks like we may get a downpour later, hope it holds off!!

Pigs trotters, I so want to try a recipe with those that I saw on the tv. A butcher in our indoor market was giving them away on the counter but I didn't have the nerve to ask for a couple as I've never bought from him.

Rain stayed away, but pretty poor overall for a holiday time!!
Anyone living in the London area must see some strange things on the markets, pigs tails, chicken feet etc, God knows what they do with them??
Just got enough milk left to last until lunch-time tomorrow and have to pop out, so no NSD tomorrow.
Hubby had a korma made with the turkey and a packet of sauce from Home Bargains (4 for £1 and several flavours) and said it was quite nice, so nice easy meal - stock up on those if they have any in stock. Just enough for one small curry and maybe worth a try??

Hi all, had a lovely dinner at mam's. Ds enjoyed his hunt for Easter eggs and I enjoyed eating some.
For tea we had a mini buffet with sarnies and pizza etc.
Guess tomorrow will be a nsd since I'm going to be late getting paid. Oh well
Took my tablet down to mam's (can't type on this forum with it tho takes bleedin ages to write a few words, think it's the gumph down the sides). Had an email while there, and I've won £100 paypal voucher through an ebay comp. :j
cheerfulness4 - that deli brawn sounds, well, to be blunt, disgusting! Probably on par with ox tongue. God that stuff is horrible, the texture is just like you imagine a tongue would be. ewww.
My dad once had his car boot broken into when in Tesco, they nicked a black bin bag from it. Would have loved to have seen the thieves faces when they opened it, to see a pig's head! :rotfl: Think mam was relieved it'd got nicked, no way would she have cooked that!
quintwins, you don't like lamb? Surprised your hubby hasn't divorced you! :eek:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

Morning.
Toasted hot cross buns for breakfast and today's planned "veggie day" will have to wait until tomorrow as still a little turkey left and don't want to waste it!!
A positive is, space at last in the freezers, not an empty drawer as yet though!! Just space in 3 or 4 drawers, lowest level in ages and hope to go much lower before stocking up again.
Away most of day and just eat as and when really, though another turkey sandwich later.
Lip_Stick - I'm going to try comping from tonight - never win anything and nothing expected - but I'll try for 3 or 4 weeks or so, you've inspired me. lol

Lip_Stick - great win!
Back on the challenge as money will be tight untill OH gets a cheque at the end of the week.
Today we're having roast chicken, and I think I may make a soup if this miserable weather is going to continue, I can have that for lunch this week. I have some HM chicken stock in the freezer that will do the job nicely.
Lunch will be the leftover tuna mayo I had from yesterday, either on a jacket potato or sarnie. Should really have salad as trying to lose weight and doing much the opposite, but It's hard when i've been on holiday.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Hi all,
Woke up with an incredible craving for chocolate but none in the house. May have to scrounge some from my sister but am waiting for the sensation to pass. Still got bread and minestrone from the freezer - must eat this today! - and also defrosted some vegetables in blackbean sauce which I could have later in the week. I didn't need to take it out of the freezer, just wanted the appearance of choice lol.
If my sugar craving doesn't subside I'll turn the plums and pears into a crumble, eat a little and freeze the rest.
Very wet and blustery here today, wanted to go out but the weather is putting me off....Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
