Lip_Stick congratulations. That's a fantastic win. I might join Lynsey and try a few comps this week. Got to be worth a go, even if i never won anything before.
Have finished a to-do list of jobs to make my house a home that I aim to complete by December. Whole place needs curtains, paint etc so saving pennies..literally...in bags for the bank lol Not going to be spending anything on food until end of the month (payday) apart from fresh milk, veg, so hopefully will have space in freezer by then for whoopsies and bargains that this week i've had to leave in the supermarket!
Have a lovely Easter Monday everyone. :easter_ba0 -
cheerfulness4 - that deli brawn sounds, well, to be blunt, disgusting! Probably on par with ox tongue. God that stuff is horrible, the texture is just like you imagine a tongue would be. ewww.
Now you see ox tongue is another of my favourites. :rotfl:
Well done on that brilliant win, too.
I entered one of those but narda here. Shall keep trying. Used to win things before when I was a persistant comper.
Off to MrT to use some SSM vouchers and see if there's any post easter bargains.
Not sure of other meals but carbonara for tea with reduced cream and pulling another cheese bagette out the freezer to make HM garlic bread to go with it.
The whole tea will work out at £1.97 for 4 of us and will be good size portions. Around 50p each. Bargain! :TAUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Morning all - just.
Having a bit of a lazy day at the moment (ds is still in his jamas) but I do need to pop to the shops sometime. CBA tho!
Not sure about meals today, may have burger and wedges this evening. Have loads of spuds that need using up. Could do a HM potato salad. Am thinking something to do with eggs for dinner, although, probably had my fill of those this easter!
May paint a picture shortly. God knows how that's going to turn out lol.
Thx for the comments about the win. It's been ages since I did any comping. Got bored of not winning, but have done a few the last couple of days, so really pleased that I won so quick!
Lynsey & pixnmix - I wouldn't bother trying comping, it's far too much hassle for what it's worth. Really it is... it's not like I've won an ipad or anything special.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Hi everyone
We spent yesterday helping MIL in her garden so had dinner there last night.
I've taken a piece of belly pork out for dinner tonight and think I have some frozen Cauli cheese in there as well.
We've just been in Family barg*ins and got 3 bottles (750ml) of sunflower oil for 90p each some more of OH favourite Dors*t cereal and some guava juice for me.:T
We think out oldest little cat needs a trip to the vet tomorrow, she seems to be having trouble with her mouth and she did have to have teeth removed last year, so I'm going to try not to spend anything and pay out of the grocery budget as we have to pay £900 for our holiday at the end of the month and I'd like to do that without touching the savings, one can hope:oI was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

Dinner yesterday was excellent (9 very well fed people!)- hubby is currently carving up the rest of the turkey and gammon for cold cuts and we are making a soup with the carcass and left over veggies, sausagemeat and stuffing. Gorgeous. Not shopping unless I actually run out of anything now for as long as is possible! Food overload!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Afternoon all,
I am trying something new and did a month's work of online grocery shopping which was delivered today. I have planned enough meals to cover a month and my mission is not to buy anything else except for milk and if I need to top up vegetables if I run out before pay day... today I made some home made tomato soup which made four meals and tonight for dinner will be sausage casserole which will make another four or so meals... shall be interesting to see if I can do this or not as it will considerably bring down my shopping bill! Fingers and toes crossed! Went a little OCD and cleared out all my kitchen cupboards and re-organised to make everything more accessable and threw out things that were out of date... I found stuff that expired in 2009... I have only been in my current flat for two years! sorry for the waffle! :rotfl:__________________________

^ sounds interesting allym464 ^ though must be a lot of food to fit in all at once! I've tried a few ways but I always spend more when ordering in bulk 'in case' I want something..
Just got back from a different M&S today, spent another £10
Loads of bargains in there though but shame I couldn't make use of them as I needed longer dates as probably won't be eating for a couple of days, but they had things down to 10p! Was all good quality reduced stuff too.
Just had a yoghurt so far today, going to have a salad/houmous/pitta shortly and that may be my last meal unless I have something just before I go to bed..0 -
Surprisingly Kirri it wasnt that much! I already had some ingredients but I was expecting cupboard doors to fly open and throw things out at me but no! I think because I have also planned for a lot of batch cooking, I ordered in bulk so it cuts down on bags. I am awful when I go shopping and even if I write a list I get distracted and things just jump into my trolley...__________________________
