My shopping bill this week was a third of my normal bill and I've still got full freezer and cupboards! Trouble is, I'm getting a glut of courgettes and beetroot so our meals are getting even more unusual as I try and combine using up the freezer with using them too!

Still "full as a bull" after visiting Taybarns yesterday, so not much food today.

Had toasted muffins and having a reduced price Sainsburys pizza for late lunch.
Spending very little, only 57p the other day (19p chicken wrap and 2 punnets of plums, also 19p from Sainsburys).
£2.32 spent yesterday, finally bought my sugar (seems getting dearer again!!), some muffins and the 79p pizza.

Hopefully little, if anything needed today.

glad everyone is still doing well, this thread is great!

Got some brie to eat up, so tonights tea is bacon(from the freezer) and brie on bread rolls (woopsies) so very cheap tea! might dig up some spuds from the garden and make them into chips to go with it. :D

Have a good evening everyone :)

    Morning all,

Spent a few pennies yesterday. Went into Sainsburys and bought the Coke pack (10 cans for £2.04) and the hot cross buns were on BOGOF, so 79p for 2 packs and £2.83 spent. Got 2 tins of SPAM (lol), but these were free with the vouchers (on vouchers forum).

Toasted hot cross buns for breakfast and took out some burgers for later, burgers and onions in muffins with some wedgers.

I have been doing this for quite a few months now after stocking up loads during the DFW and then having lots of vouchers to spend.

I could have spent them on beer and such but I spent them on Tesco Value things and offers and so had loads of food.

Only spent less than £10 every week (some weeks I have not been!!) on shopping since then.

Takes a long time to use up food since I live alone so it goes along way.

My aim is to use everything I have, although the meals will get more bizarre over time! I have loads of pasta, rice and bolognese sauces.

Just found this thread and it sounds intriguing! I really need to do something to curb our spending and our cupboards are full.

I'm going to give it a try at least :)

I'm giving this challenge a try too. I took 1 kg of frozen chicken chunks out of the freezer and made it into a curry that we had for one meal, and I've been having for lunch all week, together with the cooked rice that I put in the fridge, rather than threw away. I've taken out a huge side of beef that I got for silly money that's just been stuck in the freezer. I'm going away in the week, so that should do my husband, heated up in gravy.

I've got a 4 drawer freezer, so I don't think it will take too long to use up what I've got.
