bramble1 - blue cheese sauce does sound a bit "iffy" and I don't eat blue cheese on it's own, but it's really tangy in a sauce..............I like it quite mild though.
Any type of sauce would work though, mopping it up with the veg and breasts. lol
I used to mainly do the chicken breasts in my steamer..........but never used it in ages..........another gadget I must start using!!
Used my "free" hand blender yesterday to whip some cream though.
Wright's mixed seed mix is now on dough setting and just taken out a 25p pack of Asda burgers (portobello mushroom and cheese).

Yuummmm love crisp sandwiches!
Had a great night sleep last night after having DS's baby the night before. (7 weeks old and EXHAUSTING!). Bet I didn't have as good a sleep as you, tho Brighteyes.
I've some courgettes, aubergines and onions that need using so I think I'll roast those off today in the oven and add them to a cheap pasta sauce I have in the cupboard and make DS2 a lasagne.
Has his cousin staying so I'll make the extra effort rather than doing spag bog for them. That will do the family nicely for tea.
Thinking about it, I've a cheese bagette in the freezer so I'll take that out and make some garlic bread with that. A feast!
Didn't get around to taking my pate out the freezer last week so I'll get that out and have some for lunch with HM bread.
Brekkies will be mushrooms and egg on toast.
Might do some baking while that oven is on. Cake box is empty so a nice fruit cake would go down a treat. Fancy a slice tonight with a cuppa.:DAUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Stotties or stottie cakes are traditionally eaten up here, they are our rolls/buns/baps etc.
Lynsey
Hmmmmmmmm I love stotties:D
I get very confused, I grew up in foreign climes - we have rolls and buns which are sweet. Where I work now I'm told that when you put filling on a roll or a bap it becomes a batch.:rotfl:I give up.
We had lemon sole out of the freezer for dinner. I bought them a week or so ago and the young lad on the fish counter was very keen to fillet them as he said he'd just been on a course and needed the practise. Having looked at them last night I probably need to buy a lot more as he definitely needs the practise.:rotfl: they were very cheap though so I'm not too bothered - also tasted very good. I coated them in my matsos meal that i bought for 4p a bag in Sainsbugs after passover last year. (Good tip that, they often give the kosher for passover stuff away very cheaply just after Easter. Last year I got all sorts including nut*lla and olive oil)I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

brekky today for me was eggs and toast (homemade bread - mix from approved foods) - eggs from my friends hens and they were lovely!
kids had scrambled eggs and toast.
dinner tonight could be absolutely anything but will definitely come from the freezer in the main - my hubby seems to need to freeze everything before he can eat it just in case it goes off in the fridge.....
freezers and cupboards packed to jammed. really lots.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Morning all
Had a rubbish night's sleep. Hip is aching where it meets my bum lol. Probably my sciatica which I've not had a problem with for a good while now. Hope BE slept well!
Need to go to Asda shortly to pick up dinner and munchies for ds and the nieces... oh what fun that'll be. Will need to pick up ear plugs too, one of my nieces can be very loud... as in going 'Arghhhhhhhhh'. Ds is looking forward to having them over though.
Breakkie was weetabix for ds, nothing for me.
Lunch Pizza
Tea no blinking idea.
Could do with a major shop but will wait til I can get a lift off dad home. Not sure if I dare ring him now to ask him as he's been chauffeuring me around in his 'rolls' the last few days. You made me laugh Lynsey.
Actually - in references to bread cakes, we often call sandwiches butties, as in chip butty. Think they're mainly hot sandwiches. Please hush with the crisp sandwiches!!! Gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

Brilliant bargains there GarnetLady. Totally jealous.
And WOW at your freezer list. I'd only looked at the vegetarian list and had freezer envy, then a realised it went on to the meats, veg and sides.
