OH nipped into ASDA for dinner and bought the whole rainbow trout stuffed with spinach and ricotta accompanied by sundried tomato and basil butter - 2 for £4 - from fish counter eww over garlicky processed taste, not proper Ricotta OH said "just ****"

Not a good day food wise !

'ello all. Hope you've all been enjoying the weekend.

Today has been a NSD as ate at mam's. Totally broke until I get paid on Tuesday, so tomorrow will be a NSD too unless a couple of bills don't go out. Will put a bit by this month and start saving!

Made a loaf of bread from the Wright's mix yesterday with ds. Baked it in the oven. It said gas mark 8 for 30 mins but the top was beginning to burn after 20mins so had to turn it down a bit.

No idea what to cook tomorrow, probably soup againnnn for dinner as ds is a big fan. Might have the Linda McCartney red onion, leek and cheese pasty things for tea that have been in the freezer for ages. Freezer has space in now, think it'd be able to get a loaf in there. Looking forward to doing a decent shop though!

Good luck with the bed delivery BE!

Welcome back Lynsey, sorry to hear about the rain on your hol.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

morning all, i'm not so worried about the frost because i'm moving so have nothing out, theres a veg plot at my new house, other than spring onions i'm not sure what else is in it

had a very good weekend only food i bought was bread, milk and eggs which we're all needed everything else came from the freezer/cupboard, we were very busy all weekend sat we gutted our garage which took all day, and yesterday we we're gardening and only stopped for sunday dinner cooked by mil, so the lure of takeaway was very high but we resisted :)

plan for today is, sausage sandwichs for breakfast (with lo frozen reduced sausages) lunch will be pasta for the kids i really fancy egg in a cup with toast tho, gonna do hm battered chicken and mash with pea's and sweetcorn, using some of the free chicken breasts i got awhile back from a family member :).

Morning... yayyyy no school run today! Having a lazy morning, just watched Aliens in the Attic and in a mo will be getting ds' castle out.

Have to go out this afternoon as ds has an appointment for his ears. Got a feeling one of his grommets has worked loose as he's been a bit deaf lately... or maybe he's choosing to ignore me.

Breakie was weetabix for me, ds had coco pops

Alice Cooper - Think he's always looked old Lynsey, and Kirri, couldn't imagine winning anything worse than tickets to see him lol.

    Morning.

Just had porridge and off shopping with brother later...........trying hard NOT to spend today, unless there is something "unmissable".

Lip_Stick - You may be right regarding Alice Cooper - he probably looked old, young - all that make-up!! No school run?? You could have said, "School's Out"!! ;), just to stay on track. lol

    Pretty miserable day here, sadly.

  • I've actually taken more out of the freezer than I've put in this weekend. Took a small wholemeal loaf out for OH sandwiches on Friday and then a pack of sausages for dinner. Sat we had a go at barbequeing a piece of belly pork, it tasted fantastic but we couldn't get it to crackle, yesterday we had PIL round for another BBQ so a packet of chicken thigh fillets, a large piece of steak and some pork steaks out. However I have put two loch trout fillets and some bagels back in :o I'm trying to give my MIL lessons in YS shopping so we popped into Sainsbugs on the way back from a day out yesterday, I only gave in to these two things and some houmous and milk (30p a litre , organic) she got loads though and couldn't believe how cheap it was:D
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

  • I think I'm going to do this as well, my freezers not so full but my cupboards are stuffed! I was shocked, I don't even remember buying half the stuff! I've got couscous, basmati rice, risotto rice, quinoa, pasta in all kind of shapes and sizes and countless tins of beans and crap that have been sitting there for months!

Next week I'm going to try and only buy fresh veggies, cheese, milk, eggs and meat and I'm going to come with all kinds of ideas to combine these ingredients and try and use up what I've already got rather than going out and buying more! I think I'm even going to try and make my own biscuits with the 2 packets of flour I have sitting at home rather than buying....... oh god wish me luck!!

Oh he was excellent, always puts on a good show too, fake hanging and all sorts :D

Best get on and put some bread on or I'll have no lunch... got 1 bun left for breakfast and will choose some frozen delicacy to get out for dinner. On a major no food spending spree this week as I have a vet appt coming up which won't be cheap.
