hope you got some bargains!!!!!
Not as many bargains as planned, so still cash-rich for other potential bargains.
House of Fraser for breakfast., not very MSE'ing. :rotfl:
You've got too much money!!!!!!!!!
2 breakfasts and unlimited hot drinks for a grand total of £1.98 in Ikea, plus 45p for a bar of chocalate.........might have something to do with the loss of appetite.

Freezer is full, although its not large but still loads in it. Told H what we were doing and he actually said he was looking for was looking forward to it to see what random stuff we had to eat.
Last night - Children had a quorn/lentil shephards pie I had made from freezer.
Tonight - Frozen quorn mince, frozen peas, no onions left so used some baics pickled onions chopped up, 2 apples grated (always try to get extra fruit/veg into meals!) carrots, all cooked with a gravy and herbs. Served with potoatoes, it was nice and made a start on the freezer clearance.
Really looking forward to see how much I can use without shopping, although we use mointains of veg and fruit so may have to visit lidl.
Will still need milk and some bread but hopefully not much else.0 -
well I had done really well over the last few days and nearly emptied the freezer, and got rid of quite a lot of stuff from the cupboards (we have had some random meals recently!!!) so felt that after 3 weeks of no 'proper shop' it was time. So I have done a sensible shop after some meal planning and vow to stay away from the shops (except for milk and fruit) for a month. I spent £120 (there are five of us!) and will allow £30 a week for top up, meaning a total spend of £250. Then hopefully I can reduce this amount the month after.
This thread has inspired me!! So thanks everyone
Of course the result of this is that my freezer is full againmortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0 -

But you've probably made a great saving (though don't know what you would usually spend ) and used up all those things that usually lurk in the back of cupboards and the freezer:)0 -

I think I saved about £50 as I stretched myself an extra week between going shopping so Im pleased with that!mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0 -
Right.... I'm all ready to actually focus on this after going to The Great Yorkshire Show, and buying cheese, some gorgeous pork pies, various salami and some bacon... and none of the items were whoopsied! Also went to a park with ds yesterday and visited a chinese shop on the way home, bought some spices but got a few curry spice mixes free which I'll do with beef. I'm reallyyyyyyyy hoping it tastes like the curry from chinese takeaways.
I'm off to Butlins mid-August, so need to save up a few pennies for that, and pay off my catalogue. I'm only going to buy milk and bread for a week, and then after that I'll just add fruit and drinks to the list.
I will NOT venture into Home Bargains... I will NOT look at the reduced counter in Asda when I'm only going in to buy alcohol... I will NOT shop because I'm a bit bored and need to have my fix. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
i'm not back properly til monday but i did buy some reduced pancakes last night for the freezer, saying that were 7p a pack i really couldn't say no
this morning we had *you guessed it* muffins from the freezer, they did have some of these reduced last night but i left them
we had some frozen sausages chips and beans last night, i have 6 sausages left so since theres 5 of us i'm gonna do pasta for tea, i'm now down to 4 bags of pastaDEC GC £463.67/£450

Got some Warburtons teacakes last night in Sainsburys (25p per pack) and had them toasted for breakfast.
Had to buy some veg yesterday and popped into Aldi. Bought some celery for 39p (super 6 range) and some carrots.
Been busy this morning making some minestrone soup, simmering away gently now - that's lunch sorted.
Snacky day today as I can't be bothered.
No food needs to be bought today. I'll need milk again tomorrow and will get some meatballs from Lidl (highly recommended at only 84p per pack via their half-price weekend offer). Need sugar and olive oil, so off to Home Bargains tomorrow also - eat into my budget day tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!
