I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

What are beef "stotties". Sorry if I sound dim.
Regards
Lol. Stotties are basically flat bread buns or "stottie cakes" in Geordieland.
Translated, probably hot beef sarnies/baps to you "posh folk", or should that be sandwiches.
Greggs sell them and Morrisons do packs of 4 mini ones for 69p.
Hard to get a "proper stotty" now and loads of variations - a good homemade one takes some beating (not my homemade ones though!!!).
Oven bottom muffins are similar in shape.

I buy a bag of mixed fresh peppers and quarter and deseed them. I put this all in the freezer and take out the frozen quarters as needed and cut off what I need. Nothing is soggy nothing is wasted and I can get a variety of colours/ chunks /thin slices. I do similar with big bag of carrots. These get chopped and bagged into portion sizes. Some are rounds for casserole, chunky quarters for roast dinner, juliennne to cook in fresh orange juice, tiny cubes to make quick lentil and bacon soup etc etc.0 -

I'll start properly tomorrow...Saving as much as possible to replace all the things I've had years and are on their way to the knackers yard :eek:0

Do you guys buy things to do with your freezer stuff? like sauces, fresh salads etc?
Does that still work out cheaper then buying fresh stuff every-week?0 -

I am sometimes as I only have a 2 and a half drawer freezer so not loads and loads in there but still amazing at how much it does hold.
I have just the last month (ours runs 15th- 15th) set a strict food budget, as this is the end of the month though its looking a bit bare, just baking a cake my DS's seem to think there no food if there's nothing they can get their hands on, I do find its cheaper than buying fresh every week.0 -
Good morning all.
Took out a 19p ruduced pack of pate, so pate on toast for breakfast and we're having Sainsburys vegetable lasagne (39p reduced) for lunch.
Took out quite a bit this week and only put in 3 x 250g steak mince (Lidl's offer), and a Sainsburys fresh pizza (99p) - the gaps aren't as big as I want, so going to sort the freezers this morning. I need some space for the Lidl meatballs this coming weekend - only 84p per pack and lovely.

I have a bag of spinach thats been sitting in my freezer forever - i don't want ot chuck it, but it takes a lot of space - any ideas what i can do with it?
I think we're going to do garlic and chilli chicken kebabs for tea tonight (the chicken is frozen/pre marinated by aldi and lush) Got everything in for that, and will use up some of the salad thats getting a bit limp.
Lunch - i have a roll that i need to eat, so will have that with some scrambled egg i think, or beans on toast as opened a tin last night, but didn't finish it.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
