I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Kirri - sorry about your experience with your (now ex) friend - I hate it when people let you down - only thing is that it has the opposite effect on me and I eat for England to counter the stress.
I have really bad toothache today and have just made an appointment with the dentist - had to wait until next MONDAY for the first available appointment!!
Didn't go for lunch with my sister as DD2 is off school ill, so had pasta and sauce - I LOVE it but usually buy the Aldi one. This time I had Sainsburys one in the cupboard and it was really not nice at all - thank goodness I only bought one to try - will go back to Aldi one!!
DD1 is out for tea now so just DD2 who isn't fancying much cos she is ill - I may just do her a bacon sandwich and leave the chicken, bacon and avocado wraps until tomorrow. Thanks for the link to the wrap recipe Lyra - I actually found some in Tesco before for £1 so got them for now, but I think I will try and make some. Went to the little Tesco round the corner for Asprin for my toothache and didn't buy anything else except the wraps!
Just got an order in for 4 large cakes for Thursday so will need to stock up on some baking things - hopefully I will have most of what I need in already so that should be nearly all profit!!
Still haven't ventured to Asda for the Dettol handwash thingies - Asda is a fair distance away and it's not a pleasant drive as the traffic is really bad on that route so I try and avoid going unless I am passing anyway.
Payday tomorrow!!! Well part payday - I get my tax credits and then will get my self employed fee whenever they can be bothered to post it to me - grrrr - it makes budgetting so difficult as I can never be sure that I will have the money in my account by a certain date and often have to cancel direct debits so I don't get charged.
I just looked through my cupboards and found that I only have about three cans of Branston beans in so I am now going to look to see where they are currently on offer - I have to have a good stock in or else I panic!! I love them!!!Jane

As a low carber (for health reasons) I can't eat wraps so I use sliced stuff eg ham, turkey breast, Parma ham and haslet, plonk things in eg cottage cheese and roll up
The suit I bought OH turned up by courier today. T M Lewin pure new wool navy single-breasted suit reduced from £500 to 199.20 with free trouser hemming, suit bag and delivery. OH will be like a kid with a new toy/dog with bone tonight.
Getting back on topic, dinner tonight is venison curry, a Valentine Warner recipe I spotted. The test is whether Sainsbury's Taste The Difference diced wild venison (offer) is better than Highland Game diced venison (offer) from Morrisons.

I live in a sort of flat, they would leave my order on my door step (on to 'Station Road' So a V. busy road! - with no driveway!) if i didn't leave the communal door unlocked! So we don't use them anymore...
I just priced up an sort of shop so i can get an idea of price comparisons for tomorrow, it was scary.I'm going to got to the 3 shops near me inthe hope of finding lots of reduced bits as otherwise i will be way over budget!!
We had chicken kievs for dins, stopped in a waitrose and got 2 x chicken, bacon and wine pies reduced to £1.49 from £4.99! and quorn escalopes for .49p
Not sure what dinner will be tomorrow, depends on what i find at the shops!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

did a good freeezer raid today for dinner - tomato and mascarpone cheese sauce over pasta with oven-baked meatballs with fresh red peppers, courgette and mushrooms. No shopping! And mega yum.
Also dug out some fresh salmon fillets for tomorrow bought at 75% off and frozen and a sausage casserole for the kids on thursday. Nom.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

'ello all
Had a small spend at the market of £1.80 for some diced chicken breast. Had it with my pesto and pasta. The walnut pesto was ok, nothing special.
Will be going to ds' parents evening tomorrow, need to buy eggs, milk, pg tips and yoghurt. Ds will be with his dad for his tea so I'll have nasi goreng.
ms_night_ryder - everytime Milk&More had an offer on, e.g. spend £10 and get £5 off, they'd always bill me in full so I'd have to ring up and get credit. This happened about 3 or 4 times. Then just before Christmas they rang me with an offer for milk for 4 weeks, a couple of pints a week. Ended up getting billed for it, even after I received the invoice and I rang to make sure I wouldn't. It took about 6 phone calls to get refunded. Finally got my money about a month later.
kirri - hope you're feeling better. It's not nice when friends let you down eh.
Lynsey... did I hear right? You're going to Weatherspoons for brown sugar? :think:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

Sssshhhhhh. Only a few (quite a few) packets with my coffee...........I don't take sugar in coffee, but it comes in handy. lol
I know an old dear who saves up sachets of brown sugar all year from Wetherspoons etc and gets enough to make here Xmas cake!!
NSD today. :j
Looked in sainsbury's late on and all they basically had was loads of double cream again..........300ml pots for 10p - walked away and spent nowt.
Great start to the week, only 38p spend so far on food........plus my bottle of wine.
Shopping tomorrow though, back to Asda for another 2 handwash thingy's (if in stock) and then on to Tesco to use up some more coupons. Some more hot cross buns if still 50p!! Probably the 240 box of Tetley teabags also.
Not feeling great, a little off colour, so fishcakes and apple crumbles tomorrow for lunch.
Hope you feeling better Kirri after your experience.
bramble1 - those pies sound nice, we need a local Waitrose!!
Jane - hope that toothache eases - hate toothache.

Shocking behaviour Lynsey! It's not like I've gone to Asda or BHS cafes for sugar sachets for my trip to disney. *realises I need to go to Tesco to get the milk*
I need a travel kettle, but I'll just probably take my normal one if I have the room lol.
Hope you feel better in the morning. xThere's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Lynsey - why didn't you get the cream and make butter? I got loads and loads of whoopsied cream after Christmas and made pounds of hm butter and it was lovely! I have only just finished using it. It's dead easy - just whip the cream until it separates into butter and buttermilk (this takes a while but is effortless with a hand electric whisk) and then strain off the buttermilk (you can use this for scones) and then throw the butter into a collander and rinse it under cold running water for a couple of minutes (or it will go rancid too quickly), then salt it if you want and pack it into tubbits or wrap it in 250g pieces in baking parchment covered in clingfilm. It freezers beautifully!
Ended up making beans on toast for tea as I was mega stressed out - I think I must have the most frustrating and stubborn ex husband and the infuriating kids in England - they all "do my head right in" as DD2 would put it. Will have to make the cauliflower cheese tomorrow - I was really looking forward to that too.
Bramble - I have done a virtual shop around too, in advance of going shopping tomorrow - I was pleased to see that the Cravendale is on 3 for 2 in Tescos, plus the Vanish is only £3.00 (I have a £1.50 coupon), the Fairy platinum is better than half price (I have a few £1.50 coupons for those) and I have Tesco specific coupons for £1.00 off Iams and Always, so I will go there first and then head on to Aldi, Lidl and finally Sainsburys - hope I get some whoopises!!Jane
