I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Lyndsey, I'm with you on the Tesc* front, I hate the shop and the company and all they represent but will abuse them for coupon offers:D If I have six items at checkout, I have six coupons.
Did eat some sausages from the freezer last night so there's a tiny gap now.:)I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

ms_night_ryde - sadly Milk and More don't deliver in my area or I would have used your referral.
blackandwhitebunny - the Tesco hot cross buns are fab and I'll buy those as long as they are half-price (50p) - absolute bargain. Love the idea of 6 items and 6 coupons though, that's basically what Tesco is good for!!
Trying grilled grapefruit this morning for breakfast, topped with a little honey and brown sugar, which reminds me - must pop into Wetherspoons to get some more brown sugar..............I'm getting low!!
Rest of the day is sorted with pasta and fishcake meals. Took out some bacon bits and will fry in garlic oil and top the pasta.
I'll be sorry to see the end of February, it's been a great month. I've had some great bargains and couponing has come back with a vengeance. If March is only half as good as February, it still should be a good month. Hoping March is my Lidl month, not much gone my way so far this year with Lidl, but my time will come..........soon hopefully.

bramble1 - I don't like Tesco and would never do my shopping there, but I still "use and abuse" them for couponing purposes and glitches. I don't want to lose out financially and simply use them to my advantage. I not lucky enough to have an option of a Waitrose, far too far away.
Lynsey
I only go there if i've vouchers or gift cards earnt through surveys (although try every other alternative before them!)
The thing people don't get yet, is when they compare pricing as it's a Tesco metro it won't come up much cheaper than waitrose anyway, plus waitrose price match alot of stock!
Payday tomorrow!!! Going to lidl and sainsbobs, maybe morries too, sainsburys have good deals on WW food right now so will stock up to see me through the month.
Chicken Kievs for dinner out the freezer tonight, OH will probably want chips with his, I think i'll just have veg as I want to lose 2lbs this week!
Lunch is a WW Bagel with spread, fruit for breakfast.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Morning all
Hope all are well. Loads of ironing to do today and tidying up, then I've got a stupid work focused interview that I have to attend even though I don't have to work. I do want to get back into work but there's sod all about that fits in with ds' hours, and certainly nothing designing, like I'm experienced in.
Dinner will be HM lentil and bacon stew from the freezer and tea is pasta and pesto. May take ds to park after school if the weather is ok. Yesterday turned out to be a right miserable day.
ms_night_ryde - I'm already a customer of Milk & More, and my experience hasn't exactly been great!
Dontknowanymore - thanks for telling me how you make your crazy gravy, will give it a try sometime. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
I am another Te$co avoider, unless I have coupons - I don't even like using the £5 WYS £40 ones unless I can rack up about £80 worth of stuff for the £40 - It used to be quite easy in my Tesco but the bargains have well and truly dried up lately.
Have got to go for a fasting blood test today so no breakfast - will have a slice of hm bread toasted when I get back. Lunch is out today with my sister, and dinner will be cauliflower cheese, using some of my stash of cheese sauce mix sachets, which I "tart" up with mustard and extra grated strong cheese. Kids won't eat that though so they are having wraps with chicken, bacon and avocado in - Bacon out of the freezer and chicken is l/o from last night. Afters will have to be yoghurt and/or fruit, which they won't like but its all that's on offer. DD1 has piled a load of weight on lately - I haven't said anything but I know it is because of the amount of takeaways, McD's and other rubbish which she is eating, so I am trying to offer only healthy stuff at home.
Does anyone know how to make wraps from scratch? They have gone really expensive and I haven't seen any on offer for a while.Jane

i don't really have alot of choice so i have to use tesco, some stuff just aren't avaliable locally or are too expensive elsewhere, we will have an huge asda super store by the end of the year tho
.
well my diets going well, i'm feeling really tired tho i'm wondering if it's my body getting used to less sugar, however my freezers going down nicelyi think because my fridge is so full so i'm eating out of it and not replacing freezer stuff. Alos i'm now having to provide hubby with pack lunch so using slightly more food. the amount of fruit and yogurts were going threw is shocking, i spent £102 last week
have a few vouchers so hoping for £50 this week.
today i'm having a baked tatie for lunch and slimming world chips (treated myself to an actifry) and fried egg for dinner
theres a recipe for wraps in os i seen ages ago, i think it's abit like making crepes.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Gressingham duck legs out of the freezer tonight, roasted on a bed of leeks and yellow peppers...they taste soo much better than chicken legs. I stashed 3 packs for £10 on a Waitrose offer then some more from Morrisons. Will snap these up whenever I see them now !
Tatco sometimes have these on offerI love duck & Gressingham are great quality.
Recovering Spendaholic, this recipe was on the OS board & have tried it myself with success. Might want to scale down though :rotfl: http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/1864/flour-tortilla-wraps.aspx0 -

I've used your codemy order is due tomorrow, wonder what time they will turn up?! They can't leave it outside as I'm in a flat! Plus god knows where I will put 18 toilet rolls, I had almost run out though so they will be handy... got some kitchen towel, butter, yoghurts, soya milk too so very pleased if all turns up ok!
I had a really bad experience Sunday, now have an ex friend, god help them if they ever speak to me again, they did something unforgiveable and it put me off food... so not really been updating on this thread.
RS - I got a recipe for wraps from here somewhere in OS, they are ok, nothing like shop ones though as they weren't soft and chewy! If I find the bookmark I'll post it.0
