God my head hurts. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0

Hey all
Went for Dinner last night and it was great had fun, didnt get home until midnight, was considering meeting my cousin for a drink as it was on the way, but i don't like house music. There was so much food as we all had a set meal, i was looking forward to my favorite dish, which is a starter of mince meat fried in another meat, forgot what its called, so I went a bit ott on that as i hadn't eaten Since lunch, then there was lamb with rice, the rice mixed with mince meat and alsi mixed grill of kyfta, chicken and lamb cubes, with garlic mayo and chilli sauce, i was really full and ended up taking alot of mine home, so looking forward to that for lunch, my friend also had a huge cake, but it was chocolate so I had to decline because I gave it up for lent. But was grateful because i was full and they still tried to make me take a huge slice home lol.
Thanks for the heads up on the kettle crisps, I live them, hope they are still on, on Tuesday, I spent kist if my remaining budget yesterday in kirk, you guys are always talking about it, so i thought I'd have a browse, ended up getting strawberrys and chicken drumsticks £2.13 also got some haribos, from a diff budget and some sensations was really cheap, tonne bat uo drumsticks in portions and freeze.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Morning all, I am watching HP Half Blood Prince (have to clear out the Sky + saved too). Have 2 faggots and 2 stuffing balls defrosted for lunch with chips )freezer) tiny meatballs defrosted to have spag so having a go at some sauce to go with them - not too keen on toms so a bit of a punt at that - for either later today or tomorrow evening as am out for lunch tomorrow. Have printed out my lists to stop me buying and I have 43 meat/fish ingredients, mostly hm stew type things + vegs, hm bread (sliced) and some puds. AND THATS JUST THE FREEZER. I live alone and do not cook for anyone else other than when 7yr old DGS stays overnight. Scary list. I do MS and have 2 small Mr Ts to do, 2 Large Mr Ts and Mr S as well as a delivery from Mr A - all in the next 2 weeks. Just will not have to buy frozen stuff although tinned/pkt cupboards have another 42 + cass mixes, rice, cake & bread mixes etc etc. Just hope I live long enough to eat it all. Even stocked up on toilet rolls/wash powder etc. Note to self MUST STOP STOCKING UP.0

DH did a freezer dive to find something for dinner tonight. He eventually emerged triumpant with a half leg of lamb.:D The problem is I know we have most of half a pig and at least one whole lamb in the chest freezer but it all seems to have disappeared under 3 turkeys, a goose and half a ton of sausages.:o I'm blaming Sainsbugs - if they didn't keep having ridiculously good ys markdowns I wouldn't have to keep buying the stuff. I know in theory we could manage without any shopping for weeks but I have to go in to get school supplies and then I spot the ys things:o
Anyway we did eat two solero's yesterday so that counts:D
Oh and I'm blaming mission control for the garage clutter - I've got about another 30 coupons ready to go:o but I'll give some of this away at least.I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

^ Blackpool wasn't one of those parks that introduced the no own food rule was it??? I can't remember which ones did, I always take my own food everywhere. Been over 30 years since I have been there, it's probably changed a lot!!
Kirri - yes Blackpool don't let you take your own food!! Good job I checked first. We had a good time but it was sooooooo cold. As we were going out I told DD to bring the coats and she forgot to - i only realised when we got there!! It was freezing too - not too bad for those going on the rides but I don't do rides so i was just standing around.cheerfulness4 wrote: »Thanks for that. I shall give that a try.
Jane, where do you buy your Milo from? I've been getting it from Amazon for my dad but its quite dear.
Got loads when AP Foods were selling it for 99p a fair bit back but now I'm paying around £10 for 4 tins.
I get my milo from sainsburys - I don't buy it regularly but it is about £2 a tin I think.
A friend went to a butchers on the other side of town yesterday and got me some sausage, bacon and shin beef so we had bacon and sausages for brunch and I am making stew with the shin beef at the moment.
I am going to Aldi for some potatoes later, and don't know whether to swing by sainsburys to look for whoopsies!
just editing to add that I went to Aldi and got potatoes and a few other bits - a lovely cauliflower, free range eggs, a chicken, corned beef and butter. I went into Sainsburys at about ten to four and they had loads of reduced stuff, but the most anything had off it was 50% so so I gave it a miss, except for some cheese and onion rolls and a steak and guiness pie. I LOVE those cheese and onion rolls and they will do me a couple of days for lunch beans.
... grrrr........Jane

VfM4meplse - hope you're feeling much better.
Jane - I know, 50% off is just not enough for "whoopsies". lol
I walk away as well. Strange, but in Tesco last Wednesday when we took my brother shopping, there was quite a bit reduced meat at around 3.30pm and I couldn't believe the reduced price - far too high. Tesco is one hell of an expensive shop if you're buying at full price, quite frightening!!
Spent just 19p on a wholemeal loaf, I was going to walk away but thought of the birds (far to soft with these birds!). Froze 12 slices and fed some to the birds and they'll get the rest tomorrow - probably the frozen stuff also eventually!!
Just snacking and stir fry tonight, took out the prawns and also the monkfish tail (glad to see the end of it).
On the look out for some cheap Nescafe asap and may get some Tetley teabags (240's on offer) from Tesco on Wednesday.

Evening all
Think I've finally recovered from last night, although it'll be an early night for me tonight!
Had a NSD today. Went to mam's for dinner and we had pork with a pepper and sea salt crust from Asda. It was beautiful, the best piece of pork I've had in a long while.
I don't need anything much this weekend, maybe a bit of fruit and veg, and teabags and sugar.
VfM4meplse - hope you're feeling better soon. x
blackandwhitebunny - have you thought about opening your own butchers? There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Lynsey - there is a £1 off PG tips (any variety) on the coupons thread and they are on offer for £2 in Tesco at the moment so not bad at £1 for a box. I buy the delicate ones as I like them best, so I got a couple of packets last night.Jane

Jane, I've had quite a few of those and hubby actually prefers the strong ones..............but the coupons are from Unilever VIP and I've had those. The Tetley ones are £2.64 for 240 bags - should have got them the other day, but wanted to check for coupons first. lol
