gailey happy birthday to your eldest, before we shop at tesc0 i look on line first to make a list. a couple of weeks back thay had ducks half price, i gave the list to oh and said only get a duck if they look nice and are half price as i dont mind paying £4 for a duck. he came back with the shopping & extras( what is the point of me making a list to try and save money and he comes back with extras???) & a duck. the duck on the receipt was priced at £9.98, it clearly said on the big sticker on the duck that the price per kg was half price not the whole duck. needless to say we had a very expensive roast duck for lunch the following sunday.
i had to edit i forgot to add i am having left over chicken, chorizo and butterbean stew tonight, not taken out of the freezer i know but its not going in for another day.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

Morning all
Went to Asda last night and spent £14 on whoopsies. Didn't get much off - around a 3rd to half price but needed my fix lol. Bought a salmon and broccoli lattice, tom and mozz quiche, beef and ale grills (had those last night), an ultimate steak pie, hummus, extra special shepherds pie and some lemsip max capsules (paid full price for those lol).
Lunch is hummus, carrot, red pepper and melba toast.
Tea will be shepherds pie with carrots and broccoli.
Next week ds will be off school so the quiche and lattice will be used then. Also have a Frankie and Benny's £10 off voucher so will take ds out for tea there. Just got a meal through groupon too that cost me the grand total of £3 so might do lunch there some day.
It's a friend's daughter's birthday tomorrow so need to get a card and pressie for the party.
Happy birthday to your lil one gailey, hope she enjoys her day, and good luck with the doc appointment. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Annoyed! Dad went to get some comfort pure with the vouchers and he was only allowed to buy one bottle - spoke to the manager and he refused to sell him anymore. I'm heading over to Tesco later with the folks to buy some more. :mad:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. Hm bread toasted and marmite for breakfast
Hm roll and cheese and out of date crisps for lunch
Just making another chocolate cake for weekend visitors - still haven't used up all the marge, flour etc. Confession time too as I found the second bag of SR flour I thought I bought the other week, it was hiding behind a huge jar of oats - so now I have 2 packs of plain and 2 packs of SR, just as well I found it as I had already added another to the next Ocado order! Got a jar of chocolate flakes, says it's for making drinking chocolate with but found it a bit of a faff so only used it once, should be fine as a cake sprinkle as it's all nice big flakes. I have actually run out of caster sugar so had to use part caster sugar/part muscovado.. hope it's not too heavy!
Dinner - no idea yet, in the fridge I have a swede, 2 mini naans, 2 kg of pumpkin cut up, chocolate, eggs, cheese and some condiments. Fancy something easy though, might pop to Morrisons this afternoon and buy something extra for dinner as I need a cucumber and some kitchen towel anyway..0 -
i just had some really manky spagetti for lunch it was awful, it was the stuff mil bought yesterday, the value stuff i normall buy is so much nicer, served it with sausage rolls from the freezer, me and hubby are starting slimming world on monday so chinese tea tonight, well acually i have some lo in the freezer from a few weeks back so i'm having it and a handful of hubbys chips.
took the kids to feed the animals today and that got rid of a good bit of out of date bread, when we start slimming world i'd say we'll be using alot less bread and milk as me and hubby only like full fatand alot less spuds i might start splitting a big sack with my mum so i still get them cheap for the kids, kids are having pizza for tea.
any cheap drink suggestions for slimming world other than water, squash? i'll buy some value apple and orange juice but tbh it'll be gone in a day or 2 no matter how much i buy and i liek to shop weekly.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Sorry you had that bother Lip_Stick , or your Dad did!!
It should be 1 coupon per item, I only did 2 at a time and just build up some "stock". I would get 8 (£2's worth) if possible, more if you'll use them - cheap as chips.
Good luck on your next visit, still got until 29th Feb to max up.
NSD and will probably stay that way until tomorrow.

quintwin - not sure if you drink sugar free fizzy drinks but they are syn free on SW.
Do you have really milky tea/coffee because I still manage fine with my HXA for milk in drinks. Of course you get much more milk if you go the semi or 1% route.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250
