  • Am I the only one who's finding that my trying to eat up my very full freezer is being sabotaged by buying whoopsies.:o I'm being very strict about only buying YS meat but I'm still filling up my freezer faster than I can empty it.:o

no not the only one, working from home this week because of half term, but when i am in the office i pass Asd@ on my way home which also tends to be the time they start doing the 2nd sticker reductions. very addictive i'm afraid. i have not had a shower yet and still in my pj's. this is to stop me going shopping tonight, i'm still after a 10p steak. however i finish at 5pm so there is still time for a shower then.

    Hi everyone.

I'm not sure what to do for tea tonight as ds and I are at the dentist at 4. I'll also take a trip to Asda after that to see what whoopsies they have and get some fabric conditioner. (thanks Lynsey ;) ) I'm thinking a jacket potato with tuna. I did fancy having something meaty with veg but I expect ds will be starving by the time we get back.

Hoping I can get some decent deals in Asda as it's ages since I've got anything. Mind you, I really don't need any as I've got more than enough in at the moment!. :o

  • I'm trying to be good, honest:o I have at least two months' (if not more) worth of meat in the freezer and the plan is to eat it all and use the savings towards the holiday fund. I also have a reasonable stockpile in the garage from cheap offers and coupons - will I ever need to buy fabric softner again? I do cheat a bit as a lot of the YS items I buy come from my pocket money budget rather than the Grocery Budget, but then left over pocket money could also go into the holiday fund:o
Anyway I was good last night, we had the filled pasta from Asd* with a jar of tomato and chilli sauce from the stock pile (79p from BandM) and I've sent OH off to work with avocado and chorizo salad and fruit salad made from some of the blueberries, half the melon and some peaches. (all YS from Tues) so that's getting used up. I have also taken a packet of chicken thighs out the freezer for tonight to roast with potatoes, onions and sweet potatoes.
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

hi all i got some whoopsied bread yesterday, i got 3 bags full for my mum for about 60p so she's happy, i got myself 2 loaves and 2 brown rolls i already have a packet of these rolls in my freezer so we'll have all 3 packets for lunch one saturday, i also got whoopsied flea treatment for the dog, it's in date til next nov so mybe there not stocking it anymore, i'm going back today for more as i only got 2 til i asked hubby if they were the right ones.

breakfast was jam sandwichs and yogurts, off to an appointment soon so mil might feed the kids lunch while she has them and maybe keep some for the one i'll have with me maybe not tho lol she sent me home with a lasange for my lunch today aswell, it's hubbys birthday today so we're off out to the cinema (i think it's undecided) and possibly a meal tonight or possibly fish and chips using our tastecard since he loves them and he loves that there so cheap aswell lol.

oh and yes the brilliant whoopsies i keep seeing is whats stopping me running my freezer down :p my problem is the stuff i put in takes up more room than the stuff i take out, like the odd portion of mince, chicken fillets and sausages take up less room than a loaves of bread, and then when i take bread out i will it with something else, now we've decided we're not moving it should all go alot better in the summer because theres no way i'm going whoopsie shopping every week with 3 kids in tow:rotfl:

The Comfort Pure is only £1 in Tesco and Sainsbury's for the 21 wash size - only 25p with coupons and is by far the best value. Print off as many as you need and max up. Or are you going to use the ASDA price match thingy?? ASDA have the 42 wash for £2, but only 1 coupon, so £1.25 for 42 washes (42 washes with 2 smaller ones for just 50p).

    Make the right choice. :D

Thanks for that! Tesco is a bus ride away but I've phoned Dad and he's going by one today so I've asked him to get me a load lol. :D

I had boiled eggs for breakfast. My local Spar sells 6 free range large eggs for 99p ;) The shop owner and OH get on well so if I see a catering pack of something I want on Bookers website, he gets it for us - usually at cost. For example, we got several 5L containers of distilled malt vinegar, which I use for cleaning.

Got diced venison out of freezer. for dinner tonight after going to Lidl to have a nose, top up the milk, buy Formil washing powder (as recommended by Which?) and some cheese possibly.

Breakfast - hm bread toasted and marmite
Lunch - hm roll, cheese and crisps
Dinner - Finished the romanesco, couldn't face romanesco cheese 3 days in a row so had the last bit just on the side with the last hm pasty from the freezer and a roll.

All going well this week, no 'meals' bought, only veg and milk mainly - getting a bit dull again though just eating what I have to rather than buying something different from the shop..

Total spend in Feb so far £47.39 (£22.89 food and £24.50 fruit/veg)
