Morning, Tobys Mum how good are you 2p for chocolate biscuits. took a pack of diced casserole steak out this morning, its in the slow cooker with tomato sauce i made the other day and a tin of pataks madras and a tin of coconut milk and a large chopped onion. sausages i took out of the freezer the other day have now all gone thankfully. kids finished them off for breakfast this morning. also took out a pack of chicken breasts & some bacon. some will be used tomorrow in the slow cooker for the chorizo, chicken and butter bean stew, i have seen a post of the recipe and have been quite eager to try it. the remaing chicken will be transformed with a squirt of bbc sauce, topped with cheese and bacon. eldest childs current fav. enjoy your day.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

Morning all.
Decided to have dumplings with my stew yesterday, something I've not had for years, and it was very nice. Ds ate plenty. Today I'm meeting ds for dinner so it'll be Asda or Maccy Ds or a cheap cafe. Tea he's with his dad so I'm just having a ready made mozzarella pasta bake which I need some salad for.
My veg box is due today. I've been holding off buying much veg so I could certainly do with it as I'm down to just spuds. Really need to buy sugar, fruit and yoghurts.
Tobys Mum - thank goodness I never saw those biscuits! Lucky find for you!
Lysney I can't get the comfort pure coupons to work. Are they on that baby site? Can you put a link to where you're getting yours?
abitofhelp - those chicken dishes sound nice. I need to use up some chorizo that's in the freezer and that sounds like just the dish to do it.There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

Lynsey, what is the Groupon glitch? Where do you find the Morries vouchers? I recommended a friend to Groupon and to Quidco but have not recd anything for doing so, do I have to wait for them to buy through them do you know. Asking you because you seem to know almost EVERYTHING. Although no empty space in freezers, they do seem to be not quite so rammed which means when soup is finished cooking today I may put a portion in a gap. Have requested veg seedlings/veg hanging basket/hanging basket from children for birthday (March) and Mothering Sunday pressies (Its Mothering Sunday NOT Mother's Day, thats American). Lost my Mum end of last year so will be a sad time this year. AH well.0

Afternoon all
Finished off the halloumi yesterday for lunch.
Used half the romanesco last night, will finish that tonight. Finished 1 lot of cheese.
Clementines for breakfast (had no bread!).
Having pumpkin and lentil soup for lunch, don't really like it though as nowhere near as nice as the butternut one I made last week. But have to eat it I guess.. got loads of portions in the freezer as wellbought some naan bread this morning to see if that improves the soup eating! It's almost like a dhal anyway.
Still got another 2kg of pumpkin pieces cut up in the fridge - sick of soup and don't want another batch I don't like - not sure what to do with it..
Getting tempted to put an Ocado order in, they have lots of Ecover on offer as well as well as things I just can't get in Morries or Asda. Trying to hold off till March though or it will bump up Feb spends more than I want. Plus I should use up more storecupboard stuff first..0 -

I haven't eaten anything hot (apart from Weetabix) for the last 4 days, mainly as I defrosted a little big loaf (475g) on Sunday, and am getting through it one slice at a time with cheese and salad. I've also got the following to consume before I'm going to eat a hot meal from the freezer:
- eight medium Braeburn apples
- six kiwi fruit (not quite ripe yet)
- 500g punnet of black grapes (would be good with the above for a nice fruit salad, probably enough for a big serving every day the next 3 days)
- box of blueberries before they expire
- eight small ripening bananas
- 2L of low fat youghurt....smoothie time with the blueberries and bananas I think!
I think this will take me through to Saturday, may or may not go shopping depending on whether I plan to go out for the day, in which case I'll end up eating out, probably something overpriced that I won't enjoy. No more Weetabix until then! (still an incredible 62 to finish! - enough for a month).

Hi all
I went to Asda with ds for dinner. I had a bacon sandwich and they were a little tight with the bacon, 2 small slices that hardly covered the bottom of the bread cake. I bought apples & bananas while there and spent a few quid. Went to home bargains for the sugar and bought a few goodies for little one (and myself), spent about £2.50.
My veg box arrived today so here's a pic:-
One of the parsnips is HUGE! No idea what the hell I'm going to do with that! Suppose it's ok for £6, wouldn't pay £12 though! and !!!!!! do I do with a sweet mama squash? There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson.
