^^ yes I only count what I hand over in cash, love paying in vouchers.

Lynsey, wish I had a HB shop, cheapest I ever see Red Sky crisps is £1 ish.

I've had little use of food today as still don't feel well...

    Breakfast - nothing
    Lunch - toast and cheese
Dinner - small amount of pasta with half a roasted aubergine and red pesto.

As I only order now once a month from Ocado on the minimum £40 order I add to it over the month on the website and usually have to take things out to keep in budget but I am actually struggling to fill the basket this time as I just keep thinking I don't need anything much! Won't order till 1st of next month though so suppose still time - but goes to show how much I was ordering when working as used to do at least 2 orders a month mostly!
  • Evening all!
Good going everyone am most impressed!
I have done a shop today to stock up for next month (spent so far £29 and planning on stretching thru next month as much as I can!)
Some momentous news tho I managed to defrost the freezer and I can actually see the back!!
Have a pizza and garlic bread in there, lamb which Im gonna make into stew, fishcakes and some oven chips and peas and the rest is cupboard and fridge stuff (cheese, pasta, potatoes, veg, baked beans, tuna , sauces , rice etc..)

Hoping for a good moneysaving few months! ;) gonna try and make a load of soups to freeze over the weekends!

I love making a batch of soup on a Sunday to eat across the week.

Got a day off tomorrow so can be more adventurous with lunch and breakfast!

I would have spent cash today, but my cheque I was paid bounced and my card was declined!! How embarrassing!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Bought two speciality breads tonight, one for 20p and one for 15p, so 35p spent.
One of them should have been £1.99!!!
Froze most and left some for toast tomorrow and I'll donate some for the birds breakfast. None of the cheap chat stuff for my birds. :D

Hoping for a NSD tomorrow - fingers crossed.

Kirri, this is the normal price for Red Sky crisps in HB for the 150g size, all flavours. Smaller packets are 19p I think.

The birds and myself have just had our "posh" bread - Swiss muesli and raisin bread. Quite nice and something I'd buy again for 15p..........or less.
No meals planned for today, quite possibly a tin of soup.
Got the beef to take out to cook tomorrow which will do two days, and only a little cheese and crackers pre Xmas to get rid off.
Next week will be a spend week probably as I'll have to buy cheese again - hope there's a decent offer on somewhere. I've got some cheese in the freezer which I use for sauces/pasta bakes, but need fresh cheese.

Hopefully the planned NSD will happen and not really much needed on Saturday. Onions from Lidl and I may just hit Morries at 8pm again to see if the pies are as reduced as much as last week. Must have averaged around 10p per pie. :money: The organic bread was nice also and the Guy reducing said they always have that to reduce..........think they'd just make less? Better not give them ideas. :D

Hi all, hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend!

I forgot to mention that I made the sausage and apple plait last Sunday when I was at Mam's. It turned out lovely and would definitely do it again.

Yesterday I had that paprika, chilli and lime paste, cooked it with tomatoes, flaked in salmon and served on a bit of pasta and it was lush. So lush in fact that I went to M&S to buy some more as it looks like it's going to be discontinued. Ended up buying a couple of other things in there while I was at it, :o but spent just over £4 so not as bad as my last visit.

Tonight I'm going to have takeaway as ds is at mam's and I've got a rough headache so can't be bothered to cook. Hopefully some vino will sort it out. :D
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
