^^ dried beans should be fine.. I dry my own but don't label the jars... good emergency standby!
Runner beans will take up loads of freezer space, I have 39 packs here and my mum is storing more for me!! Broad beans great in dip with minced onion, can do this from frozen ones too.
I have some tinned pineapple from 2008, am going to open that at some point and eat it if it looks ok...0 -

Never done over wintered beans, but got beans to grow soon - want the red flowers more than the beans. lol
Always look nice growing up the canes.

I do that! Some purple podded beans I grew had lovely pinky/lilac flowers and another had creamy lemon flowers. Looked great up a wigwam worked in with my Morning Glory and Sweet Peas.
(actually like eating the beans too so bonus!)
Still have lots of eggs to use so I'm going to have an omelette with mushrooms, toms and watercress salad for my lunch. Lots of herbs with it will be nice, too.
Might make up a batch of veg soup too as want to clear up bits and pieces in the fridge. That will be nice to have later or tomorrow.
Rest are having spag bog tonight and I'll make up some HM garlic bread with reduced bagettes. They liked that last time.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Morning all. Hope everyone had a good weekend!
I had to pay off the rest of my holiday to Disney yesterday so decided to go into M&S to pick up some black peppercorn sauce, that you add cream too. Ended up spending £11 on sauces and pastes to make sauces, plus I bought the GoodFood magazine. I then decided to go into Tesco to get the cream. Big mistake as I ended up spending another £11 in there.
This morning I spent £10 in Asda but it was all on fresh food and essentials like bin bags. I refuse to spend any more money on food barring fresh stuff for the next two weeks at least. If I do, I need a severe telling off!
I really need to save up for my hol, which is in March so only a couple of months to go (or 58 sleeps!!!).There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
ITS SO COLD!
Toast has been devoured. Really need to make soup tonight for tomorrow. A nice thick veg soup with lentils out the store cupboard i think,
Looking forward to dinner, and will have WW cookies for a snack this afternoon, as a little treat. Stocked up on WW food in the £1 shop so have plenty to get me through my diet!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

The weather has perked up now in my area, sun's out and clear skies and ground is thawing nicely, apart from in the shade.
Been out and bought a selection of veg, double cream and 4 litres of milk (coupons in Tesco, last day of offer) - £4.41 spent.
That really should keep me going until Saturday and the next thre days should be NSD's. I'll ONLY visit Sainsbury's between now and Saturday morning and will ONLY buy quality "whoopsies" if any.
Roast veg and pork chops in oven now and just the blue cheese sauce to do in 20 minutes or so. Snack the rest of the day as I've done loads of veg.

Morning.
Took some teacakes out, so toasted teacakes for breakfast. Never soaked the beans, so another day for that.
Probably a simple pasta meal today with the Dallaglio sauces??
I really fancy a break from cooking and a pub meal, but doing a Groupon meal deal next Wednesday.

Decided to do a quick tuna pasta bake for tea yesterday. Today for me it's a bit of pork pie for dinner and a low-fat pasta ready meal for tea as ds is with his dad all day.
Planned on having a NSD but went to open milk which is in date by two days and it's off (both whole and skimmed). Milk & More are bloody rubbish, am always having problems with their offers and the milk going off. I do get up and collect it fairly early too, so it's not like it's been outside for long.
No idea what I'll do for tea tomorrow, I need to get something out the freezer pronto if I want to do something in the slow cooker.Lip_stick - we had the leek and bacon pasta from the goodfood magazine for dinner today. It was LUSH.
Will give that a go next week thanks, it does look delicious. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
