Ohh that reminds me. Its the cheap posh crisps at Lidl's this weekend, isn't it? Mustn't forget that.
How much are they this time? Last time they sold out in 10mins flat in my local store! Still, my deprivation = other people's obesity :D.

  • So I've managed to get my freezer food down really well! We just have a few bits of breaded chicken, some stewing beef and my vegetarian things.
I'm going to hold off defrosting the freezer until it snows! Then I can just put everything into a storage box and bury it in the snow.

I'm planning a shop tonight to get some dinner things, and I wanted to make some dinners from reduced items if i can find any tonight so i just have to put them in the oven when we want them. I don't have enough room in the freezer (because its so frosty) to start batch cooking, but I think i'm definitely going to have a go tonight. On the look out for some reduced fruit too to make some desserts. Always good for sunday lunches :D x

Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!

Could i ask a question, not been on this thread before but thought you good people would be the best to answer my question.
I have some farmfoods bacon that has been defrosted for 2 weeks is it still ok to use, it looks and smells fine.
Just wondered as I know bacon usually has a fairly long date, but not sure after defrosted, there was nothing on the packaging.
    Cheers:)

    No spend day. :j
Used the back roads to keep away from supermarkets........and it worked.
Hopefully the same tomorrow as nothing needed. Pennies needed for Saturday.

VfM4meplse, the crisps are 49p per packet (150g).

Probably stir fry tomorrow as there are peppers need using.
Breakfast either bacon sandwich or another batch of porridge.

Yesterday was a good day. Breakfast was porridge. Lynsey keeps posting about it so I finally dug out that bag of porridge oats in the cupboard. It was lush especially with some cream.

Free lunch courtesy of Morrisons, thank you kind sirs, feel free to do that again soon. I had a pumpin ravioli starter (far too sweet and swimming in butter), spinach and ricotta cannelloni (yum yum yum but needed some salt and pepper), and apple tarte tatin (help me out here guys cos I'm not entirely sure, is it meant to be served cold? I always thought warm...)

And dinner was a cup of tea and 2 biscuits.

Making shopping list for the big December shop. This time it's only going to be one shop a month so hopefully wil see reduction in grocery shopping money
You'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel

Sounds yumcious, easy enough to make giant ones and serve with baby spinach leaves and crushed walnuts.

Only a month to go now so if you can manage just one shop this month you'll be v disciplined!

So sorry, but I have had lots of late. :o
I used the £1 off coupon and bought the Jordans Chunky one and it's the best I've tasted - I usually buy the cheap stuff from Morries!

I highly recommend the Jordans one, it's £1.27 in Tesco at the moment (it was that price in ASDA when I bought 2 boxes), so only 27p per box with coupon - top value for a top product. Very little needed, so 2 boxes should last a while.

  • Hoping for a NSD today, but have just printed the Jordans vouchers (thanks Lynsey!) so may nip into Tescos later to use them.

Breakfast is just coffee today, lunch will be bacon and tomatoes (Kids took packed lunches) and dinner tonight will be spaghetti and meatballs - meatballs out of the freezer and spaghetti from my pasta[STRIKE] mountain[/STRIKE] store. Bought loads of the Aldi premium bolognese sauce when it was reduced to 34p - it is really really nice and doesn't need "tarting up" like alot of jar sauces do. Afters will be yoghurts which will get on kids nerves but I am not making anything as those yoghurts NEED to be used!!

I have got two Innocent pots for £1 - are they on offer anywhere at the moment?
