It is a pity as we get through loads of petrol with DH's work.
Think I'll have to keep a close eye on the Tescos deals and swoop when one or two make it worth my while. Stock up the garage.
My lads would spend the lot on endless trips to get the b1g2f frijjs at the mo. Last night one went round twice so he could buy himself 9 as there's a 6 limit. Naughty naughty. (6 were for his brother, tho)AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Ended up going to Sainsbury's last night and spent another £3.64 on 4 pizzzas, some boil in the bag kippers and bread - froze the lot - needed none!!
Felt guilty and no shopping today or tomorrow and will do a little in Lidl's on Saturday.
Out tonight for an almost free Groupon meal, so snacking today with ham sandwich etc. No breakfast as yet as we ate late last night and I'm not hungry as yet.

Ohh that reminds me. Its the cheap posh crisps at Lidl's this weekend, isn't it? Mustn't forget that.
I've been trying to checkout with AP foods. Tried 3 times and gave up. Keep getting error message. Maybe I'm being saved from myself but was going to stock up on treats for when DH off in a few weeks.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Only 7 days left for my budget and no budget at all for December/Xmas - back to some goodies again for the month, all the stuff I've stopped, or almost stopped buying by using a budget.

Well, I was asked to buy Neapolitan ice cream yesterday by my OH. Having bought the Tesco value stuff (which was cheaper than Farmfoods ) I had to have a good old game of Freezer Tetris to fit it in. It has definitely inspired me to have an 'Eat out of the freezer' week next week, the things I found! A full bag of turkey nuggets that had opened all over the freezer. Mystery pies! We ate these last night, I think they were supposed to be steak but they were more like gravy. Found two toaster pocket things too, can't even remember buying them!
The idea is to free up some space for some winter staples, really want to fit a loaf in there in case we have a horrendous winter like last year.November £5 a day challenge: £223.16/£150
December £10 a day challenge: £279.00/£310
Started comping too - no luck yet!

Love it! :rotfl:
Lynsey, do they put a limit of how much you can buy of offer items like the chocolate for 17p? Would love to stock up on that for treats and cooking.
Think its minced steak in Lidl's next weekend, too. Running low after buying lots last time so must make the most of that.
New to Lidls as we've not had one here all that long.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

You can do multiple purchases though, so should be easy to get quite a few, especially if with someone.
Quite a nice chocolate, better I think than the big supermarket cheapies - well worth stocking up.

I to have been lurking here for a while and eventually on Tuesday night did a freezer inventory and found I have lamb ( 5 joints, 6 chops, breast) chicken - a whole one and rather a lot of portions, stewing beef, braising steak, rump steak, cod fillets, cod loins ( another nice whoopsie, haddock fillets, kippers in butter sauce, lots of salmon, fish fingers, pizzas, home made lasagne I had forgotten about, cod in butter sauce, lots of sausages, lamb mince and beef mince , plus of course various vegetables, potato products, ice cream, 2 loaves of bread - bought and been making my own for a few months now, butter, cheese, ice lollies and milk. There is enough among this lot to feed us for about 60 meals and there is no room at all in there, as fast as I have a space I fill it, so no room for nice things for over the holidays so I think its about time we ate out of the freezer. Hasn't been defrosted in a year but hardly any ice, I think because no space for any more to form. I have to point out in my defence everything bar the lamb breast, cod, braising stead and haddock fillets, two small lamb roasts, cod in butter sauce and fish fingers were whoopsied right down to under a pound, I refuse to buy otherwise and that is why I got into habit of buying when I saw so cheap.
So tonight I we will have roast chicken, defrosted it over night and its in the oven covered with lemon juice and honey - had 6 lemons in fridge that were beginning to look a bit dry, so used them all, have to say still had plenty of juice in them. So thrown in potatoes with it and they are cooking slowly. Not added any water so potatoes should just cook in chicken juices, just added seasoning and used onion salt instead of fresh onion as just not in the mood for onion today.
I knew I had a fair bit of food in but 60 meals is a record for me, but got to admit feels nice knowing they are there.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
