I dont have a printer so all these coupon talk makes me jealous :( Lol can't justify buying one either since I can't remember the last time I had to print something was. I mainly use the library if I need to print something urgent. But I do keep looking on freecyle, you never know when you might get lucky, huh?

Got some cauliflower today, £1 for 2 big ones. No need to make dinner as hubby bought that as well yesterday. He came home early and brought a chicken shashlik that no-one had bothered to pick (he owns his own Indian restaurant and takeaway). I'd already eaten by the time he came home so into the fridge it went and gonna have it with some chapatis that are all ready and waiting in the freezer.

Buy a cheap 2nd hand one lilrahi, Epson ones for cheap ink.
Even a new one can now be picked up cheaply and it will pay for itself many times over with the coupons - believe me, you'll save £100's.
A free one or a friend who will let you use one will be even better.

Edit: lilrahi, just forgot but some coupons can be sent to your address when you don't have a printer, see this post of minutes ago:

  • cheerfulness - What is lemony rice pudding? I love rice pudding but haven't heard of lemony rice - doesn't the lemon make the milk curdle?

Jane, all I do is add the grated zest of a lemon or two to the rice pudding at the start of cooking. I pop mine in the slowcooker and the room smells wonderfully lemony.

It was a trick I got out of a Delia Smith book. ;)

Loved reading about your haul and others freebies today. I get all excited and its not even me saving. :p

Thanks for that Lynsey. I do want to get a printer but first I have to get a reliable computer/laptop. My desktop only works if it wants to and we've decided it's not economically viable to get it fixed again and are gonna wait till after Xmas to buy one.

I'm going to bite the bullet and bake some bread using the mix I bought ages ago.

    Hi cheerfulness4,

Maybe some of the nann breads could be made into breadcrumbs and put into an omelette which would make it more substantial. Or, if you use breadcrumbs generally in your recipes could the nann breadcrumbs be substituted?

Morning, cheese on toast today and took out pizza for later and I'll pop in a free Hovis at the same time.
Need to spend a little today if Lidl have any of the half-price blue cheese left. Also need jam and finally get those carrots!!

    Morning!

Dinner out was lovely last night, but now back to the challenge! Going to sit down and meal plan later.

OH will have bacon and egg sarnie for breakfast using up the last of the bacon we have, so will add that to the list for the big shop when i get paid. Not sure what i will have, got some woopised pineapple the other day for 19p. will probably chop that up and pick at it over the morning.

Lunch - OH will be at the yard so will eat something there and I'm not sure if i will have anything. I think i'm going out.

Dinner - there is a pizza or burgers out the freezer, depends on what we fancy later.

Need to lift out some stewing beef which we will do in the slow cooker tomorrow with some veg and potatoes. Easy day as i don't always want to make a roast on a sunday!

I bought milk in T**** this morning, 8 pints for 80p.....................7 pints are now in the freezer. I could only buy it as I have been clearing the freezer, way hey. My food spend this week has been £8 which is close to miraculous for me. I don't need to buy anything next week so I will be close to no big shopping in November. The question is can I empty both freezers ready for a big post Christmas shop.

I made the bread this morning. Lovely smell and taste.

I think that I need to get a bigger bread tin. The loaf was really top heavy because the tin is so small.

Lunch is already cooked thanks to major cooking sess yesterday and dinner is gonna be some pasta and sauce outta the cupboard
