Morning.
Went for milk (free Cravendale) late last night in Sainsbury's and to check for any bargains (too late as they reduce right down at around 19.30pm now!) and picked up only a pack of shallots for 10p.............and forgot the b***** milk!!!!!!!
So not a no-spend-day, but near-to-dammit. Have to go back as only about a half pint of milk left and none in freezer.
Was going to be porridge again for breakfast, but now toast.
Get my new oven in the next few days, so get back to normal - pizzas and lasagne on list to get rid off this week.
Just snacking today, nothing planned, maybe soup??
Good free Weight Watchers hot chocolate drink coupon available, only from ASDA though. A pdf coupon, so save and print off as many as you need. Only valid until 20th Nov. though.

Finally managed to walk through Morrisons, look at at all the reduced items, and think "nope I don't need you right now, not even to freeze" and come away with just the PG tips I went in for!
Breakthrough!You'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel0 -
On another note, really need to sort out a budget for food shopping with DH. Because he does some and I do some I think we're overspending and we could buy a whole lot more on a lot less. It doesn't help that he's of the mentality if I need it I'll buy it no matter what price whereas I like to look for bargains and will out off something if I know it's gonna be on offer next weekYou'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel0

Spag bog for my lot tonight using some Lidl's minced steak that was squirrelled away in the freezer some weeks ago. I've some Tescos value pasta sauce mix jars in the garage so I'll use one of those.
Was it on here that I read someone 'tweaks' theirs with balsamic and chilli flakes, or something like that? Can't remember what they did but I seem to think it might have been Recoveringspendaholic.
Lynsey- do you find that the supermarkets are okay with internet printed coupons in general? I only tried once in our Tesco and the supervisor said they didn't accept internet vouchers. Was a bit embarassing. Mine even had the couponstar print on the back because I asked for them to send me one as the printer wasn't connected at the time.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

NSD for me today.
Used a garlic bread out the freezer and fresh pasta, creme fraiche, mushrooms from the fridge and the remains of last nights chicken. - not the best meal ever but worth a try!
Should be a NSD tomorrow as we're having burger and chips and have everything in we could need for them.
lunches are done too!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Mine are terrors for calling the supervisor over and one of them lets nothing pass.
It was some time ago that I tried the internet coupon, when they were relatively new to me, so I'll brave up and give it another try.
I've all but Sainsburys near me so could always try the others.
Made lovely HM Olive, onion and herby bread to go with the pasta tonight from a tin of olives tucked away at the back of the pantry. Everyone loved, was delish!
Used dried onions from a stock of boxes I got from Asda for 6p each yonks ago.
Found a container full of desicated coconut tuck away that I didn't remember so will utilize that sometime soon.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

TBH, I've been quite lucky and only one issue in Tesco, just walked away and left shopping as they were genuine coupons for products I was buying. One Morries store in particualar can be bad, pretty poor staff in general and they both seem frightened and non-trained on coupon usage - again any issues and I just leave the shopping for them to put back. They either take coupons or don't take coupons and they need to decide. Only one instance in Sainsbury's and generally they are pretty good, it just seems to be the one large store like Morries. Luckily I have plenty of choice and now know several staff who are brilliant and try to use their tills.
Spend over £5 again, £5.24 in fact and that's not counting 2 litres of free Cravendale and 5 free Weight Watchers drinks!!
Needed eggs and sugar etc, so stocked up for the rest of the month. Need some jam, carrots and noodles and going to make a list of anything needed and try and be frugal for a week.
Pork steaks (out of freezer) tomorrow with swede, mashed potaoes, peas and sweetcorn. Porridge for breakfast as I now have milk!
Actually getting my oven in the morning, so might pop in a free Hovis part-bake to try it out as getting low on bread or might use the breadmaker with a Wrights bread mix.
