I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge
Comments

Had toasted muffins for breakfast and having a meatball pasta for lunch (used 2 jars of Dallaglio freebies). I'll finish off the pasta later and hubby's off for a few days and is making fried rice - cheap day. lol
Coping well without an oven and watching a couple of new ones on ebay - see how it goes.

I caved and went to waitrose for dinner, OH and I didn't want anything out the fridge/freezer! So we got Chicken kievs.
also bought some new pots, reduced beef, reduced rolls and a reduced belgian bun for his lunch/afters.
Got 1/2 a tin of soup for my lunch tomorrow and will eat out the freezer over the weekend as i don't intend to step a foot outside my front door unless i really really have to!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Today I bought in Asda in the reduced:
. bag of curly kale - 15p
. bent tin of cannelloni beans - 15p
. large bowl of prepared fruit salad - 20p
I had some bacon in the freezer. I cut up two rashers into small pieces. I heated my wok !!! frying pan with some oil. Added the bacon and cooked that for 3 mins. Then I added half of the bag of ck, some garlic granules and chilli flakes. Stir fried that for 2 mins. Then I added half the tin of cannelloni beans, 3 tomatoes cut into quarters and a squeeze of lemon juice and cooked for 3 mins.
Yummy!
You can replace the ck with cabbage and add a leek in as well.0 -
Dropped a right clanger tonight in Sainsburys.............forgot oven was broke!!!
Bought 2 massive (1.5kg) beef lasagne's for 99p each (originally £4.69 each!!), a fresh pepperoni pizza for 49p and a 2kg bag of frozen crinkle chips for 41p (lots of frozen stuff being reduced at silly prices, need to be quick though!!). Got my free 1 litre of Cravendale with coupon (what I went in for). £2.88 spent, but loads for it and freezer bulging again. Was going to have a lasagne tomorrow, but it will have to wait - took out some home-made soup out for tomorrow and decide later what else to have, probably salad and use up a tin of 25p lunch tongue. lol

I need to get my bum over to sainsbobs!
I've lifted out lamb chops for OH's dinner tonight, I need to get another one as 2 won't be enough.
I will have something....possibly meatballs. I need to decide before i go to work so they can defrost though.
Also taken out a gammon joint, which i will boil tomorrow, OH can have half for lunch meat and half will go into a gammon and leek pie for sunday lunch.
As i need more milk and another lamb chop i am going to take my chances and go to sainsburys tonight to see if i can get reduced/offer items to see us through next week.
In the freezer still have
3 x portions cod (will use some to make fish pie)
1 x portion lemon sole
2 x portions burgers
1 x portion sausages
1 x jalapenos stuffed with cheese
1 x bag of chicken wings
1 x bag chips
1 x spicy pork steaks
4 x scotch pies
3 x portions breakfast sausages
6 x portions HM lasagna
2 x frying beef portions
So plenty of food there, just very samey, will try and pick up some chicken or stewing steak later just to mix things up a bit.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Usually free Cravendale milk day today (Friday), so worth looking out for on Facebook or updates on coupon thread. 1 free litre per coupon. Free Dallaglio suaces (using coupon) ends in Morries on 13th Nov, got loads and hoping for several more. The ones I used yesterday were quite nice (bolgnese with red wine).
Toast and coffee for breakfast, soup and a salad later - easy day.

Thanks Lynsey - free milk will be a great help, and sauces too. Poor OH is going to get fed up of pasta and pies, but they are the cheapest dishes, and till he gets paid again our budget is soooo tight!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Quintwins - I went to Tesco the night before last for the 3 for 2 stuff and there was NO value stuff out at all - only marmalade which I don't buy anyway - there was no jam, no honey, no dried fruits - nothing!! I somehow don't think that they had all sold out - Tescos are terrible for manipulating stuff I think!
Packed lunches for kids today using Aldi Frikadellen, which we all like - I will have soup though, and tea tonight will be beef casserole with new potatoes and cabbage. My freezer is full but not with anything substantial - just loads of reduced bread and stuff - I need to do a meat re-stock soon.
I bought loads of Aldi blueberry fruit spread yesterday as it was reduced to 34p, as was the bottled American hickory bbq sauce, which is lovely!!Jane
