Done my shop - came to £22 including cider and a magazine, redeemed £15 of nectar points and £2 pinecone vouchers so only spent £5 which is good. Shouldn't need to shop again this week :)

  • Got to have a go at this myself again as I'm so impressed with reading all these posts. Love all the coupon usage. I used to be so on the ball with my MrT coupon use but stopped once they refused coupons unless I bought the product.

Got to get more coupon savvy. And I've got to get more disciplined as we're trying to save for a car and need to save £2,500 to help out there.

Planning to challenge myself to as little as possible spent on groceries/cleaning etc until the end of the year. On 30th December I will treat myself to a new budget to begin the new year. (And that gives me a few weeks to work out exactly what I really need rather than want).

I've been forgetting all the tricks I once knew and realising reading this thread that there are some new ones out there that I've no clue of. ie Free Cravendale milk??? WOW!

Will add my spends as a total in my sig until Dec 30th. No limit being set as don't want to give myself licence to spend more than I need or feel the guilts because I couldn't achieve what I'd hoped.

I've 6 adults to feed, something new to me, and I've the weeniest kitchen on the planet, just to make it more fun! :p

    Oh well, here goes. :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Good luck cheerfulness4.
Coupon usuage is brilliant and if you combine coupon usage with offers you get a "double whammy" - often free or near free, in fact on occasions they pay you to take the food away.
I set a budget, but because of using coupons and reduced items my budget goes for miles. I reckon I get around £100 worth of food for every £25 spent lately, easily in fact. I'm both lucky in that I've got the time and multiple supermarkets right on my doorstep to take advantage of...........and take advantage of I do. I do max offers and cheat a little, but so do they!

Anyway, no-spend-day today and hoping for at least 3 or 4 more no-spend days this month.
Ending up having fish and chips, home-made chips in the fryer and they were lovely. Crying out for a pizza, hope I get my new oven this week - just watching a few new ones on ebay which end shortly in a few days time and if not off to Comet as I have £65 in vouchers to use.

Nothing planned for tomorrow yet, maybe porridge for breakfast??

I made some rock buns and hobnobs today as had egg that needed using up.

Froze some of each so i don't need to bake next weekend, unless the mood takes me.

Planned meals for the whole week so shouldn't need to spend any more money at all! (We shall see if that happens or not!)

  • Getting stuck in straightaway today. After I've hung the first lot of washing I'm going to shred the l/o chicken and make a Delia Chicken and Leek Flan for the freezer for Wed night.

Have some l/o beef stew from the weekend, mostly gravy and some veg, so that will be whizzed down to make soup for the freezer for lunches.

Reduced single cream in fridge will make carbonara for the lads today and I'll have sandwiches and chips with mum as she's visiting and loves chips! :)

Tonight other two can have egg and chips. Quick meals needed today as busy with mum.

Will try and squeeze in some scones for pack ups in week and maybe a batch of muffins.

Have been sorting my coupons. Quite exciting. :D

Yesterday, used an unwanted coffee substitute to make a type of bread/cake recipe and had a third of the litre of soup previously made.

A jar of sesame seeds are being used this week as a substitute for "butter" or for sweetened recipes. This will be as a change to peanut butter and will also deter me (for the time being) buying margarine.

Made roast chicken today, pulled the rest of the meat off the carcass for chicken and mushroom pasta bake tomorrow.

Not a NSD as had to get stuffing (OH wouldn't not have it with dinner!) got a waitrose fresh loaf of bread for 30p and brocolli head for 19p which i will add to the pasta bake.

Going out for dinner courtesy of OH's parents on friday now, which means i don't need to go buy potatoes, so that's me out a sticky spot :) as didn't have enough for the meals with potato i have planned for the rest of the week!

Lunch made - cheese & onion sarnies for OH, I've got the 2nd half of the tin of soup i started today.
