I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Had to use a few coupons which were about to expire, so had to spend a few £'s to use them as most were freebies.
Got 3 packs of Hovis loaves/bun, not only free but money off my shopping due to multi-buys.
Got another 2 free litres of Cravendale (free milk Friday tomorrow and hoping I don't miss it).
5 free packs of Tassimo (to give away as I've not got a machine).
Utterly Butterly is only 60p at Morries using a 30p coupon, so got 2 of those.
Ended up spending £3.80 and got a small Xmas cake and some tins of custard and a some mince pies.
Had the lasagne for tea tonight, reduced at Sainsbury's for 99p - a large 1.5kg one and far too big for two, so a portion in the fridge for tomorrow, probably for myself as hubby fancies smoked salmon and poached eggs.
Watch out for these large lasagnes when they are reduced to around 99p, they are quite nice and would feed a family of four. Still got one in the freezer for another day.
Hoping for a no-spend-day tomorrow as I want to buy some of the half-price blue cheese at Lidl's on Saturday along with some cheap carrots.
Nan breads can obviously be used for garlic bread and also for hawaiian open sandwiches/toasties. Half of the nan with cheese, the other half with ham and topped with pineapple slices or pieces - pop under the grill for a few minutes.

Hello everybody,
My storecupboard is slightly more reduced in items now but the freezer contents start to reduce then fill again. This is due to occasional "freebies" and some recipes that are "reinvented" that turn out more per grammes than what they started at. Over half way through the month now and I've hardly bought anything extra to what I planned to do.0 -
Hi All I am on week one of eating from the stores, apart from milk and fresh fruit on Monday (£7 something) all other food has come from the freezer or cupboards. Realistically I have enough food to continue like this until the end of the month. I do find that my only way of doing this is not to enter and food shops I can't resist a bargain! I have also made, and taken, soup to work every day for lunch which is a sure fire sign that winter is here.0

Morning.
Porridge for breakfast for myself again and hubby wants cheese on toast (he's off today and making breakfast, so he can do as he wishes). lol
Forgot to take salmon out of freezer, get hubby to do it when he makes coffees.
No planned buying today and now have enough bread and milk to get me through until next week.
*** Free Cravendale milk day today and hoping for another few free litres.

cheerfulness - What is lemony rice pudding? I love rice pudding but haven't heard of lemony rice - doesn't the lemon make the milk curdle?
After my mega haul of bargains the other night my freezer is absolutely full to bursting. I posted my finds on the GC thread but just to repeat that when I was in Tesco they suddenly wheeled about 7 large cages full of food of all kinds and said that it was 90% off. I got as much as I could fit in my freezer!! For £6 I got all of the following:
2 trays of 4 pork chops
2 packs (900g) of lean mince
2 whole pork fillet tenderloins
tray of 9 chicken thighs
tray of 5 chicken thigh fillets
finest pizza
finest goats cheese and red onion flatbread
2 packs of 12 croissants
2 packs of pain au chocolate
pack of crumpets
2 white loaves
pack of finest scones
pack of pulled chicken
finest pea and smoked haddock risotto
finest pea and mint mash
finest king prawn curry with pilau rice
finest tempura prawns
scotch egg
8 lots of chicken and stuffing sandwiches
3 bacon and leek quiches
just cook chicken with cheese and bacon
just cook chilli con carne
large tray of barbecue wings
southern fried chicken goujons
large piece of sirloin steak
2 chocolate eclairs
tub of mini blueberry muffins
2 finest chocolate sundaes (DD and I ate them when I got in!)
It was also taking the multi-buy deals off at full price!!
We had the wings last night and they were sooooo spicy - glad I didn't pay much for them as won't be having them again! Also had the tempura prawns last night and they were DELICIOUS - I was in Tesco this morning and they are £4 a pack so won't be getting those again unless they are 90% off!!! - Don't expect that I will come across a haul like that again!
Tonight it is hm meatballs with gnocchi bake which we all like, and I am toying with making a croissant bread and butter pudding but don't know if I can be bothered or if we need the calories!!Jane

Well done Jane, that's some shop and some great itme there - that's the time to stock up........if you have the room. lol Love to see people getting bargains like that.
Managed to get another 4 free Cravendale coupons for another day, seems like ages since I bought any milk.
No-spend-day so far and probably not going out.
For anyone that's hanging around tonight and not going out, there is a great possibilty of some free Innocent Veg Pots coupons later on the "tweetandeat".

Good luck, they'll probably go pretty quickly.

Thanks for the tip on the innocent veg pots lynsey - I don't actually like a couple of them but the coconut curry is lovely as is the veg chilli one. Will look out for them later - does anyone know if they are bogof anywhere, in which case the £1 is good?Jane

Tesco have the Veg Pots on offer at £3 each, Sainsbury's have them @ 2 for £6 (BOGOF last time), Waitrose have them @ £2.52.
Depending on the coupon dates, it may be worth holding, though Waitrose should give a profit of £1.27 as the coupons redeem at £3.79.
Good luck, it's getting there slowly.
