Had my porridge, so fairly full up, perhaps room just for a couple of biscuits.
Anyone see BBC this morning and the bit about the cheapest lunch??
Toast sandwich anyone?? Can't see the logic, much rather have 3 slices of toast. First time I've ever heard of this and apparently it's been around for years, from the Mrs Beeton era!!

Lol @ Lynsey. Who are we to argue with the institution that is Mrs Beeton? Although I had to say it's a bit too weird for my tastes.
Got a load of bread today, reduced for the freezer because all my bread has finished.
I used a coupon for a free jar of Hipp Organic baby food. The lady had to scan it twice and it kept beeping so I was afraid she'd reject it but all right in the end. Now just have to feed the child which is easier said than done. You'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel0 -
Oven arived late at 3.30pm and now fitted so a chance to start reducing my freezers and getting ready for some Xmas bargains to fill the gaps. Hovis part-bake loaf and a large lasagne for tomorrow will clear a little space.
No-spend-day so far, but have been printing of coupons and ready. lol
BTW, anyone with a Tasimmo machine can get some free Cadbury t pods from Morries (normally £3.99) - may benefit someone. It was on page 5 and lots of other coupons there.

Third day of no spends. Almost tripped up and went to replenish the raisin stocks until I reminded myself that the house won't fall apart if we go a couple of days without them.
Creamy chicken flan was lovely from l/o chicken today. Lemony rice pudding bubbling away happily in the slowcooker for a treat later.
Tomorrow will be Sausage Plait (mum fetched me some sausages last week which I froze) and I'll make some nice cheesy rounds of bubble and squeak to have with it.
I've a reduced cabbage that will come in handy for that.
Really good link for the coupon site. Thanks for that. Still trying to find my way round that and the coupons thread on here.

I was a bit nervous at first and would only use 2 or 3 coupons at a time and put the stuff in the car and go back in for more, 2 or 3 times. But you do get more confident as times go on and lately I've up it to 9 coupons in one hit (my record so far). Think of it as printing £1 notes. lol
Not too bothered about using loads in on go as I often go out to get some bargains and put through a few coupons as well.
BTW, Sainsbury's self-service tills are a good place to start, they normally allow 2 or 3 which scan and have a value, but have a limit of £2.50 - £3 (not too sure now).
Popped in to Sainsbury's on the way home tonight from the pub and just missed out on some fab bargains (by minutes), a couple in front got allsorts of goodies. Plenty of pizzas for 49p, but got enough of them and would rather have the space - these come along all the time.
Got 2 more free litres of Cravendale with coupons (handy for porridge) and 3 reduced Ginster pasties for 29p each, a small Warburtons Danish loaf for 19p and a small cooked ham joint for £1.29 - so £2.35 spent and £2.35 more than planned!!

I see Morries have half price tetleys, so need to go tonight to get a pack. Will see if i can pick up any other bargains too.
We got takeaway last night, only spent a tenner so not a bank breaker, shouldn't have done it, but oh well.
Lunches and breakfasts are still very much out the cupboard and freezer.
Today I'll have the last cereal bar thats kicking around and lunch, not sure will see what takes my fancy when i get home. (i love working 5mins from my house!)Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Got fruit and that's all the shopping done until next Sunday.
I have instructed husband I am not to be allowed near any more shops until thenYou'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel0 -
4th day of no spends and found some raisins stored I didn't know I had! :T
Sausage plait was a hit with DIL who'd never had it before. Asked for recipe and I let her into the secret of how to make 5 sausages feed 6 without anyone guessing.
She's only 18 and has lots of fun days ahead learning these little tricks, bless her.
Tomorrow is shopping day and we get back late as we take my parents with us. Always have a coffee with them afterwards.
So the 3 are having chicken curry, rice and naan breads as an early tea. Us other 3 will be having bubble & squeak with fried eggs later.
I've loads of naans that I bought from Approved Foods. Bar the obvious use with curry and also using them for quick pizzas, does anyone else use them in any other inventive ways?
Got a Wrights club booklet through (lovely recipes) and a 30p coupon. More for my little growing stash of coupons.:jAUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250
