£50 in one go JB  Would be interested to hear more about the red lentil bolognaise if you make it - since giving up Quorn this year I was thinking of trying a lentil bolognaise instead.

Florenceem - I REALLY want a muffin now :( Got no eggs though..
I have nothing sweet in at all - unless I get another banana and crumble mix out the freezer..

Breakfast - Ran out of butter so had vegan marge on hm toast - disguised it with some free home made jam. Very nice.

Lunch - toasted cheese and onion sarnie with salad - home made bread (loaf with organic flour about 30-40p?) and only bought the tomato as the rest of the salad was from the allotment (cheese was free).

Dinner - the Mary Berry Italian stuffed courgette recipe with Pink Fir Apple potato wedges (the best potatoes!). Only bought the cheese and 1 tomato, the rest was from the allotment today, so nice cheap meal :D

Stocked up from the allotment with bunches of onions, spring onions, garlic, beetroot, carrots, courgettes (more!) potatoes, peas, beans, radish, cucumber, mizuna, rocket and various herbs. Plenty to last the week. A few cupboard staples are getting low so may have to unfortunately spend something this week ie bread flour, puy lentils and some dairy.

If we lived near to each other - I would swap some muffins for some lottie bits.

^ Now that would be ideal!

I used to live near an online bring and barter group, shame I moved too far, was a great idea.

£50 in total for the day, at three different shops. And it'll make a lot of meals - the all-purpose pasta sauce is in the slow cooker now, and there's loads of it, only just all fitted in the slow cooker.

I was going to try out A Girl Called Jack lentil bolognese recipe (21p a portion)
    http://agirlcalledjack.com/2013/02/13/red-lentil-bolognese-21p/
and as one poster mentions, top it with mash and you've got veggie shepherds' pie:)

I must complete my stock take of freezers and cupboards. I have a list of all the contents of my small freezer but the bigger chest one is yet to be done.
Had a really good low spend week.
I have just written out the dinner menu for the next 21 days. Most of it HM meals in the freezer already. Other meals - I have a lot of the ingredients in stock.
I am doing FQ's Austerity August challenge - spend as little as possible. I have decorating to spend out on.

The All-Purpose Pasta Sauce all bagged up (I use those pour 'n' seal freezer bags, 80p for 8 at bargain shop, saves a lot of space in the freezer) and in the freezer. It made 2.75kg in total, so lots of different meals there:)

The pizza sauce will be portioned up and in the freezer later tonight.

So the freezer is now pretty much restocked:T

In to freezer - 4 rashers bacon.
Out of freezer - tub of double cream.
I have a tin of salmon lurking in the cupboard. Eggs to use up so + cream = quiche.

Breakfast - free jam on hm toast with vegan marge

Lunch - free cheese in a hm bread toasted sandwich with free garlic mushrooms on the side

    Snack - raspberry jelly

Dinner - hm veg curry using mostly free veg, with basmati rice

    Made today:
    2 x hm bread
Pint of veggie jelly (forgot this was in the cupboard, was quite pleased to find it as it's better than banana crumble!)

    Nothing out of freezer.
In to freezer: 1 loaf of hm bread

Nearly got all my cupboard food on 2 shelves :D

Last night's dinner was a tin of cassoulet out of the cupboard.

Tonight's dinner will be aromatic crispy duck with pancakes.

Out of freezer: crispy duck & pancakes
    In to freezer: nothing!
