In to the freezer: Nothing!!
Out of the freezer: A gammon steak for my dinner tomorrow, a few frozen grapes, quorn pieces to go with some noodles from my lunch!
Have spent this evening trying to meal plan...it's harder than I thought but I'm getting there. I'm trying not to plan in all the nice things in the first week because then I'll have to eat the boring stuff at the end of this so I'm spreading it out.0 -
Talking of frozen bananas, would they work in a crumble anyone know??
I have quite a few in my freezer... and also have some hm crumble topping.0 -

I'm not sure I just eat mine frozen. I can't see why not though although I find if you defrost them from frozen they go a bit mushy but that would be fine for a crumble. They'd go well with some brown sugar I think
I took mine out of my post cos I wasn't hungry enough so I just had some grapes in the end!!0 -
Out of freezer - sliced roast beef, 4 mini pork pies, 6 x sausage rolls, 4 x HM ham filled bread rolls, turkey mince, cooked pizza slices.
In freezer - 4 HM beef filled bread rolls, HM bolognaise sauce.
Pack lunch all ready for tomorrow while we're out and about so pennies saved.
Will have sliced pizza cold with salad for tea when we get home. Love being organized.
Would love your stash Billie. How great a list was that!AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Last night's dinner:
Puy lentils in mint, mustard, garlic, olive oil and white wine vinegar dressing
With griddled allotment courgette, onion, beans plus haloumi and a pepper from the veg box delivery
Was SO good! (probably doesn't look it to the meat eaters lol).

Not sure what's on the menu yet... got lots of courgettes, carrots, beans, onions, potatoes, beetroot and herbs to pick and fit in somewhere this week.
Apart from 1 portion of stilton, 1 portion of tofu and some cheddar, I only have fresh veg, condiments and dried wholefoods so I have to be inventive and do lots of cooking! I imagine some of the meat filled freezer hoarders would be in a panic at the thought of my cupboards :rotfl:
Probably stick with the stuffed courgettes tonight and maybe serve with pink fir potato wedges. Will also make some burgers out of some dried allotment beans at some point this week. Plus need to make tortillas to do fajitas and I have the hm veg curry in the freezer - so quite a variety.
Started with hm toast and marmite this morning.0 -

At least with any Mary Berry recipes they always seem to turn out good - it is the recipe in the large complete book. 6 plants will produce a lot of courgettes, I only have 2 full grown at the moment and that produces way more than I can eat (unless I eat them every day which I sort of am doing!).
Thought of another, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall did a courgette polpette recipe on his prog (recipe was online) where the courgettes are diced and mixed with garlic, lemon zest, beaten egg (or linseed 'egg' may work?), cheddar, mozarella, breadcrumbs, parsley, rolled into balls and baked in the oven. VERY good!
Courgette risotto (your frozen portions may work with that? I may nick that idea!).
Also got a Morrisons halloumi and courgette burger recipe I've been meaning to try - will stick pic up if I do them (need to buy more haloumi).
Just making a big veg curry at the moment which I'll portion up for the freezer, mainly to use a butternut squash up but have put in any veg needing using, so few onions, courgettes, peppers plus added some beans from the allotment 2 years ago (as I had no chickpeas) and had to use fresh tomatoes as got no tinned ones. Will leave it cooking for a couple of hours and hope it turns out ok... didn't follow a recipe, just added in all sorts of Indian type spices.0 -
Thanks I just looked in my Mary Berry book the complete Collection and it is in there.I only started using her recipes the past 12 months and they always workout great I love her.
OOh that HFW recipe sounds great our sort of food will look for it online.
Makes a change to the usual ratatouille which is nice but nice to try different recipes I froze a lot last year just sliced them although great for casserole type dishes they were a bit squishy.
Good luck with veg curry hope it turns out nice.
