Just added up my total food spend for July
    £45.62
    :)

Freezer is nearly empty, just some bread and pasta I think, so will probably do some batch cooking over the weekend with enough left over to freeze. It's only a fridge-freezer so I don't like to overstock it. The fridge is nearly empty, and the store cupboard needs a couple of things restocking (flour and pasta).

I'll have a think about some recipe ideas probably Friday (day off!) and do the food shopping in one go. I'm planning to visit a nearby Asian supermarket as it has some great bulk deals - 12 tins chopped tomatoes £2.99, 30 eggs £1.99, or 6kg chickpeas/lentils/daal for £4.99.

    July spends £152.47
    (Food = £85.59)
    (Fruit & Veg = £67.89)

August will be lower I think. Planning a month of vegan batch cooked meals so it should be! Plus August is the best month for produce on the allotment so that should help the budget.

Has coconut milk gone up in price lately? Been a while since I bought any but got a naan recipe I need it for and it seems very expensive now?

Got nothing sweet in and having a sugar withdrawal... got no eggs for cakes and got no hard butter for biscuits - might have to try a vegan biscuit with vegan marge but the soft marge doesn't work so they won't be great... but I'm desperate :o will get the spare choc buttercream out the freezer to sandwich them together, might improve them.

There's two or three within a couple of hundred yards of each other, so lots of competition and choice:)
I've just had another look at some of the other products in the shop's special offers flyer - 1kg Palestinian medjoul dates for £6.79, 1kg chilli powder £1.99 (how long would it take to get through a kilo of chilli powder?!?), 20kg rice £19.99, 25kg chapati flour £11.99 ... there's all sorts of stuff.

2 x 330g for £1 for me, how does that compare to usual price? (I don't usually buy it.)

Also we have some fresh stuff in the fridge but seen as its shopping day tomorrow not a lot!

OMG I am now soooo embarrassed :o I can say however that the reason we have all this food in is because we now have almost everything made from scratch. But I refuse to waste it and will use it even if its only a couple of things per week. Plus DH has now lost over 10 stone so no longer eats as much.
Dare I also mention that we have some meat and frozen berries in mum's freezer because we cant fit anything else in however have just phoned daughter and told her she can have what she wants from it.

OMG ^^ that has to be the biggest ever list I've seen on this thread, I can't believe you have a shopping day tomorrow, you need to ban yourself from going :rotfl: I dread to think how much you have stored upstairs that's not on the list!!

Do you have a thing for vol au vents too?!

JB - 1 tin (org) on Ocado was £1.70 iirc but I don't think the non org was much/any cheaper.

Vegan choc sandwich biscuits made and partly eaten, not as good as with butter tastewise and didn't hold together as well, but I did finish up a half used pot of vegan marge out the fridge (I have another in already) - used up the leftover choc buttercream from the freezer, was quite handy I didn't have to make that and finished off a packet of SR flour (I have another half used though).

Oh my god Billie-Joe you make me feel so much better :) I'm not the only food hoarder!!

    In to the freezer: NOTHING
Out of the freezer: 2 x Jubbly lollies (our flat is too hot again)

I did go to Aldi today and spent £9.84 which bought - 1 small tart (which I ate as soon as I got in - not great), 2 x chestnut mushrooms, red onions, cherries, nectarines, courgettes, vine tomatoes, 2 x tapas dishes, 2 x butternut squash. Stuck to my fresh food only rule and tried to buy things that were cheap. I want a lettuce too but I thought I'd wait and see what's super six tomorrow before I committed :P
