Yes you can reboil, but it needs to go into newly sterilised jars when it reaches setting point.0

Cannot believe we've ended up with so much! The cupboards are also very full so I have put a ban on buying any non fresh food (fruit, fresh veg, dairy, eggs and fridge food only). I am going to list everything in our fridge tomorrow too as I lost the will to go on this evening but it looks like that at least is not quite so full!
Today went:
In to the freezer: Nothing
Out of the freezer: 5 mini duck spring rolls, 1 solero lolly, some rocky road icecream, 2 southern style quorn burgers, a few sad looking crinkle cut chips, a few sad looking curly fries (to make dinner and pudding for 2 people at seperate times)0 -
^ at least you can have quite a few weeks without spending!
Lots of small bits to use up too, they might go quite quick, all the bits of bread and stuff.
I only really want a week or two week's worth of home cooked meals in my freezer, no more.
Yesterday in to freezer: 1 hm loaf as made 2.
Out of freezer: finished tub of Swedish Glace and a portion of stilton I used up in pasta with some allotment french beans and cherry tomatoes from the veg box. I also finished off for lunch (didn't fancy it) the last portion of cauliflower and split pea dahl that went a bit wrong in cooking but I was determined not to waste..
Freezer now only really has some beans and fruit from 2 years ago from the allotment, a few leftover baking bits (zest, buttercream), 4 portions of the veg curry I made the other day, 1 portion of stilton and 1 portion of tofu - so about a week's worth of meals in there which I'll use over the coming week. Am toying with more vegan meals and only buying in Cow Nation Cheese or Hen Nation eggs occasionally.
In the fridge I have only water, veg, condiments and 2 portions of haloumi. Plus some cheddar I'll use for lunch.
In the dried cupboard, I am eating a portion of various types of rice or pulses etc each day so things get used up equally and nothing gets left for ages. Still a few bits that are a bit old that got left before though but using them slowly. Also have a shelf of baking stuff but that gets used fairly quickly and replaced.
My Excel spreadsheet is shrinkingand I probably now know exactly what I have without looking at it!

Florenceem - good luck with the decorating!!
Miss your pics tho - always makes me hungry! :rotfl:
Rozmister- good luck getting through your stores- I find making a list always focuses my mind!!
Didnt know you could freeze grapes though - how do they come out once defrosted?
Doing okay here though have to admit a couple of takeaways (cheap fish n chips under a fiver) have sneaked thier way in. Used up almost OOD eggs and the last solitary mushroom for lunch yesterday and 2 eggs left which will make a cake at the weekend!
Bacon out defrosting for breakfast tomorrow perhaps ...
In the freezer we have:
3 packs of assorted fish
1 pack quorn mince
2 portions pasta bake (which I will take for work lunches)
1/2 pack tortilla wraps
1/2 pack chips
1/2 pack yorkshire puddings
1 tub of onions/courgettes
1 1/2 packs frozen veg
1/2 pack meatballs
Cupboards- the usual tinned tomatoes, pasta, noodles, rice, cous cous, carrots/sweetcorn, tuna , spices etc..
Fridge has tiny bit of cheese (maybe enough for a sandwich or to sprinkle on pasta!), 2 packs ham , 2 eggs (which I will make a cake with) and a lonely leftover tub of rocket salad which is super spicy!!
Next few days will probably do - bacon sarnies, meatballs with spaghetti and cheese on top, fish chips and veg , sausage/meatball casserole with Yorkshire puds, gravy and veg might make a big veggie mince lasagne next week as well (no cheese on top but white sauce will do!) Then I might need to do a bit of a shop for meat/protein type staples otherwise itll be pasta and sauce all the way!0 -
I'm just having a break from listing all the stuff in my 3 freezers. Have so far done the small chest freezer, the small upright freezer - both of these are outside so did very quickly this morning as it was still quite chilly!
Have done the top drawer of the fridge/freezer so only 3 drawers, the fridge and cupboards to go:rotfl:. Having a break with a cuppa for 15 minutes and then will go and finish the freezer.
Have to pop out and buy some onions and big potatoes as only have small new potatoes but they don't make make nice chips and that's what we want tonight with HM burgers (mine are spicy bean and DH is having lamb & mint).
Will do the fridge and see how many cupboards I can get done after that before DH gets home at 3pm.
I really must stop buying and making stuff that has to go in the freezer.

Kirri - I'm hoping it'll last us 3 or 4 weeks with a few fresh bits added in (fruit, veg and milk really).
I mainly use the freezer to keep food from going off because although there's 2 of us (housemates) we work different hours to each other and don't sit down to eat together that often so things get left in the fridge too long and I hate waste!! It's also quite wasteful though to have all that food and not use it so I need to find a balance.
Deleted_User - I eat the grapes frozen. And the bananas!! The grapes are almost like sorbet, I had frozen grapes on a cheeseboard in a nice restaurant and loved them so I now keep them in the freezer. My sister says Victoria Beckham eats them for her pudding too which makes me LOL. The frozen bananas I chop and then put a tsp of icecream sauce over as a pudding. It's a bit weird but I prefer the hard texture so it's perfect for me.
I made a big list of all the cupboards/freezer stuff in Excel and stuck each list inside the relevant cupboard/on the freezer door. I put a column next to it so that if you use 1 of something you can cross off the original number and write next to it how many are left!!
Tonight we've got friends round so there won't really be a chance to eat up any freezer food but after they go I'm going to list the fridge contents and make a similar door list for it and then begin a meal plan for the next week based on what's on my lists0 -
Out of the freezer: 4 lamb cutlets, slice pork pie, large pizza
In to freezer: Slice HCooked gammon, 12 HM breadcakes, sliced cooked pizza.
Out and about from Friday onwards with the family so I'm making pack ups to try and save money on eating out. I've plenty in the freezer to make some beef, ham and marmite sarnies, so that's us sorted.
A cold slice of pizza or some sausage rolls will go down a treat, too.
Hopefully I'll work out some meals to prepare ready for popping in the oven in the evenings to avoid the dreaded takeaways.
Tonight will be lamb cutlets, oven roasted veg and roast potatoes for tea. Egg and cress sarnies for lunch.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

So decided to go with Curry and naan for me and DS2. Hubby had hamwiches (yeuch), hash browns and beans.
So Out of the freezer: Sainsbo's Chicken Biryani, 2 x mini naan bread and a pack of Hamwiches (there was only 3 left in the bag). Plus tin of beans from cupboard (DS2 had the rest for lunch today).
Today we are having fish pie as I found four bags of frozen fish in the freezer with one or two fillets in each. Ended up with smoked Haddock (2 fillets), salmon fillets (2 fillets), Cod (2 fillets), normal Haddock (1 fillet) and four bags gone from the freezer. Mixed in peas and sweetcorn and have made enough for two fish pies for 4 of us. Put half back in box in fridge to cool and will pop in freezer tonight and the other half popped into a skillet with crushed new potatoes on top. Will pop some grated cheese on top before bunging it in the oven to cook tonight.
Tomorrow I am doing chicken risotto as I have loads of bags of left over roast chicken to use up so the first will be tomorrow night. Must go take that out the freezer whilst I think of it.0 -
What is a hamwiche??!! Guessing some sort of processed ham product?!
rosmister - same problem here, hate waste so get lots of bits in the freezer - it's remembering to find things to use them in..
Nothing out the freezer today as I wanted to make the most of the fresh (free) veg. Dinner was:
Puy lentils - with another dressing of oil, mustard, agave, ww vinegar but included allotment mint this time, worked really well.
Served with a big pan full of griddled veg from the allotment, red and yellow beetroot, onion, courgette and added a pepper from the veg box and a small portion of cubed haloumi as it was open.0
