I finally finished my list of freezer contents - loads of stuff! Shouldn't need to buy meat for a good while. Have done my shopping list for this week and done a quick check on MySupermarket and shouldn't need to spend more than about £35 (including beer for weekends for DH as we are away every weekend this month - we've got a motorhome so like to get away as often as we can). We're take DGD away with us this weekend and she wants burgers so will need to go to the butchers for those as he makes virtually fat free burgers which I can eat on Slimming world so that will be another £4.50 for 2 each.

Should come in around £40 for this week. Will update later today with actual figures.

  • Morning all.

I've managed to use up a few.things from the freezer, 2 Turkey thighs, which I turned into a curry, mixed veg, 2 wholemeal baps, I've just taken out a pack of Hestons tomatoe ketchup bacon, going to have it with a salad for lunch. Was given 2 dinners by my grandma this week, portions are so huge that I have had 2-3 meals from one.

Are you really ready for this. Here goes you did ask...

    Wow:eek:

I'm intrigued by the 'upstairs food' too:)

I'd love to put all that into one of those ingredients recipe-finder websites to see what it comes up with, probably every recipe in its database:rotfl:

But the first step is listing everything you have, so good luck with working your way through it:T

Out of freezer last night - slice HM Syrup cake + HM Coconut Cherry Scone.
    In to freezer - nothing.
Yesterday we had a Chicken drumstick + roast potatoes + carrots/onions for dinner.
Tonight is a meal without using the oven - bacon/eggs/tomatoes etc.

Is your grandma trying to feed you up?!

I'm intrigued by the 'upstairs food' too:)

I think BJ should list it!

I seem to be picking around 15 a week?!

Favourite recipe is a Mary Berry one - stuffed Italian courgettes (scoop out middle and fry up with basil, tomatoes etc, put back in case and top with grated cheese and put in oven). Might have that tomorrow actually!
Griddled courgette slices and haloumi in a sandwich is nice.
I'm having griddled courgette and beetroot slices in with puy lentils and a dressing tonight (again!).
I've had Moroccan spiced courgette slices before.
    Good in Fajitas.
Go well in a spag bol type dinner (can also make up and freeze)
Or in with pesto in pasta or a general tomato type pasta sauce (again can freeze)
    Or in a stir fry.

Trying to think of all the ways I use them - have got a draw full here :rotfl:

Kirri - vol au vents are what I got at Christmas and forgot all about them so brought another pack and have never used them.

Rozmister - Me a food hoarder - NEVER!!! Wonder why you say that. :rotfl:

Welsh Poppy - 6 months without food shopping would be great but its never going to happen

Jelly Biactol & Kirri - list of ‘upstairs shop’ - no I am ashamed enough as it is with what I listed. May get braver when used a few things up though. Watch this space as they say. :o

Today have had beef stew out of freezer, tin salmon from ‘upstairs’ and am about to finish off the rest of the brazil nuts in a short while. Oh and have also used some ice up does that count :rotfl:(mind you did refill the trays up though)

Got given 4 small home grown cucumbers today so have given 2 away.
