you can use eggs long after their use by date,to tell whether an egg is off put it in a jug of cold water,if it floats, its off,if it sinks its good to use!
Lots of folk don't use eggs after their use by date, and i stock up on them from the coop when they're reduced, trust me!
in the olden days they used to tell if a person was guilty or innocent by an egg floating or sinking, imagine that today!!!!!0 -
Well I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. I have space in my cupboards and some in my freezer although not too much, but it's a start.
Yesterday I decided to make corned beef hash using a recipe I'd seen on There's No Taste Like Home. Well it was ok, to say it only took 20 minutes, but whoever thought it'd be a good enough recipe to serve up at a premium in a restaurant wants their head read.
Think I'll try my own style next with sliced potatoes and make them a bit crispy, and the corned beef a lot hotter than how it turned out with this recipe.savingssaver wrote: »im the same, i buy things and their in the freezer for weeks and have to throw them out.
You throw them out???? :eek:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

All the carrots are now used up. Don't you find that when you take things out of the freezer and create something tastier that you can often double the amount to eat?0
