Hi Peony40 - Welcome to the thread - it's great!I seem to have done nothing but eat today! I didn't go shopping but picked at stuff out of the fridge and cupboard all day! I made a home made pizza tonight which was nice, but I ended eating loads too much of it!! For lunch I found some pasties in the freezer and had one of those with beans and bread and butter and then tonight I found some chocolate at the back of the cupboard and at that (a whole bar!) and a bag of crisps. I really need to get a bit more orangised and eat healthier!Jane

This evening I have been looking at recipes that I can make using up the stock I have in, and trying to work out the most cost efficient method of cooking.
Try supercook if you have specific ingredients you want to start using up, you just add ingredients and it will search for suitable recipes

Nothing out of the freezer today, need to get some of the hm meals used up as it's rammed.
Breakfast - egg on toast
Lunch - pancakes again - the soya milk had been open 7 days, 2 past the recommended 5 but hasn't made me ill (yet lol). I did throw the last bit away though.
no dinner as I went to the gym but had a yoghurt and banana since I've got back. Bit late to cook now so if I'm hungry later I will snack on more fruit - had quite a bit delivered this week.
RS - the veg boxes really help me with eating healthier - mind you I do like biscuits and cake still... I find it easier to exercise than try and cut out food though but I probably should be a bit more careful given my cholesterol result.0 -
I am crawling back (yet again) to this thread, to try and get my freezers contents used up!!
3 freezers, all jam packed
I MUST be consistant and try and use what I have.
Yesterday I used YS bolognaise meal from M@rrisons (really tasty, much nicer than expected) and YS tear and share garlic bread (that I tore but DIDN'T share) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Today I have taken out 1 x portion of choc fudge cake and 2 x portions of lemon curd cake, for afternoon tea.
OH has taken YS Chinese chicken thighs (that I cooked yesterday) to work.
I will be on my own tonight, so planning to use a YS or HM ready meal up......
But since everything is so jammed in the freezers, its really hard to see what I have :doh::doh:0 -

Jelly B, thanks for the link I will have a look later.
Yesterday I used up sausages and yorkshire pudding mix and made toad in the hole for dinner. Plus I had two stale slices of bread so I made a bread pudding which was yum
Today, despite the warmth I will be making stew and using up some of the potatoes before they sprout to much.
Need to look at the fridge and use up/freeze veg where possible. I have mushrooms that I need to freeze, although I have never done this before so I need to read up how to do it.
Off to tidy up the baking cupboard and write down a list of everything in there.

Kirri that looks yum.
I came back today from a weekend of cocktails and bbq, brought back loads of food, don't see me cooking for a few days, have loads of salad and ribs, need to use up, also bought a tray of pork shoulder and chicken drumsticks, so meat drawer is full again.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Getting to the end of cooked food in the freezers.
Day 22 - pizza - cooked from freezer + jacket potato + baked beans - MW.
Men out of my kitchen now - but - so much dust + odd blobs of paint - from the rubbing down of plaster/painting walls and ceiling etc. I am working my way round the kitchen doing the cleaning.
I have turned on the new ovens as per instructions - 1 hour to burn off packaging smells.
Then I have new appliances to unpack and clean before using.
Tomorrow - I lose my bathroom. :eek:Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
