How are you managing to cook, we didn't have the cooker for a few days, we did have the microwave and I used the slow cooker a few times. Love my new kitchen, the old one was like something out of the Royle Family. :D
Pork was cooked before kitchen work started and portioned up into freezer. I cooked the jacket potatoes in the freezer - covered them with a tea towel - to keep hot. Then I warmed mushy peas in a microwave container - 99p shop - stirred peas - added roast pork slices on top and zapped again - dinner done.
The pizza and sausages were cooked before freezing as well. I like to plan.

RS - hope that wasn't too expensive, I hate ruining food!

F - yes, bit devastated over my poor flat :( Wish I could afford not to live in a flat as I've had my fill of neighbours

    Breakfast - egg on toast

Lunch - pancakes - soya milk needed using up and I'd already taken the zest off the lemon for the tabbouleh so needed to use the juice. Got another portion to have tomorrow lunchtime. I will still have some s/milk left but no room to get it in the freezer so might get wasted..

Dinner - cooked too much rice last night as I wanted to empty the pot so used the rest of it tonight for another stuffed pepper, was really nice. The rice was cooked with fried onion and pine nuts and I had a small piece of haloumi to use up so added that in. May do it again next week I enjoyed it so much!

Kitchen is still wip - 18 days with no kitchen now.
Dinner was sausage and spicey baked beans with buttered french stick - yummy.

    Morning all.

Had a fairly busy week as it's been ds' birthday, plus I've been ill so spent a day in bed. Blinking glands are like long sausages going from my throat to my ear. Going away Monday too so need to start washing, ironing and packing. Glad it's only for 4 nights lol.

Anyway, had a ready meal out of the freezer Wednesday and we had corned beef hash last night for tea with peas and mushrooms from out the freezer. Nothing at all will be going in for the rest of this week, or next. It's full to bursting at the mo. Thinking of having crispy chicken tonight for tea as I want to get rid of them.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Bread out of the freezer today, plus fridge leftovers for brunch. Am going out for a meal with friends tonight, so am skipping tea, but now starting to get hungry. We're off to a Spanish tapas bar, haven't been before but it comes highly recommended; I'll be the only native English speaker there, so it might be a challenge to my language skills:) Hasta pronto, chicos;)

Hello, I am wondering if it is ok for me to join you all in this challenge?

I have miscalculated my budget for this month somehow, and I will be running short by the end of the month. Also, I have so much food in the cupboards and freezers that I wish to use up before buying in more.

I live with my husband, no children. I have over 10kg of basmati rice - why????!!

Look forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome Peony - 10kg of rice, you'll fit in well on here :D

JB - I love tapas, good for recreating at home too.

WP - Going to check on my seedlings tomorrow, things finally seem like they are getting going but I feel like it's now June, I'm so far behind and half the plot isn't even dug over

Lip_stick - have a good holiday, bet your DS is excited! Weather looks good too (well it is down here..)

Think I forgot to post yesterday, had something like egg on toast and quinoa tabbouleh and veg/haloumi again. Veg/food delivery arrived - I always enjoy Friday's now I have that.

Today I've had banana, yoghurt/muesli for breakfast, pancakes for lunch again and a complete meal from the freezer for once for dinner! Had Indian tonight as couldn't be bothered to cook - got out a portion of hm split pea dahl, hm aloo saag and hm pitta with onion seeds. Bit stodgy all together though but literally took it from the freezer straight into the pans so nice and lazy.

Oh and finally got my free teabags on the Waitrose coupon.

Thanks Kirri for the welcome. It has become clear tonight that it is definitely time for me to be doing this challenge along with the Grocery Challenge.

This evening I have been looking at recipes that I can make using up the stock I have in, and trying to work out the most cost efficient method of cooking.
