I wish the Tesco stores around this part of the country had scanners available for customers, but I havn't seen a single one :(

Just what you want to see when walking through the dvd/games section!

I let my sister 'buy' this one :)

We bought the game today - it scanned at £27.71 - the boy on the checkout looked at the price on the game, the price on the till and for a moment, it looked like he was going to call someone, but no, he just looked a couple more times and then carried on scanning my shopping! Went to CS who refunded the full amount - I know it would have been slightly more if they have given us DTD as they should, but couldn't be bothered arguing it.

Anyway, there were two scanners in the store - neither of them was working. It's the same scenario in my "home" Tesco.

Incidentally, I had actually forgotten that I was meant to be looking out for the game, but the Tesco in-store advertising reminded me. There was a big screen suspended over the game area and it specifically mentioned the Simpsons game and the price of £12 !!

It'll make a nice bonus birthday present for DS2.

    Thanks OP.

I have tried in several shops for the simpsons ps2 game with no luck. None of the stores I have looked in have a £12 label. All the sel say 27.71

I was really hoping to get this for my nephews birthday. hey ho you cant win them all

As I mentioned in my previous post - the tv advertising blurb specifically mentions the Simpsons being on offer for £12 ! SO it might be worth hanging around and listening to the whole set of ads.... and if need be, taking the SA to watch it with you in order to claim your DTD :D

    Hi
I have only just noticed this thread.Could someone explain what the Simpson game scenario is please? Thanks. I would hazard a guess from reading between the lines that if you buy the game and t is priced at £12 and it scans at £20 something pounds you get double the difference- Do you also keep the game? How do you know whether it will scan at higher if you find the £12 price?? Sorry to ask so many questions but new to this particular area of money saving. Thanks

Had a look in my local tesco yesterday and saw the Simpsons game, but there wasn't any sticker on the front of it at all, just the SEL label. I think I looked a tad dodgy trying to find another sticker on the case!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Try and find a scanner in the shop to see what price it's going to come up at - then buy it at the higher price and you are then entitled to double the difference between the price on the sticker.... and the price you were charged. In this case, that is £27.71 - £12.00 x 2 = £31.42.

Or if you can't find a scanner, have it as the first/last item on your shop so you can see what it scans as.. and if it isn't the price you hoped for (i.e. the price matches the sticker) then you can say you've changed your mind - spent a bit more than you thought etc... and get them to void it off.

    Nothing ventured - nothing gained!

You get the game and Mr T gives you £3.71 :D

    Where is Leadhead gone?
    Probably to Tescos !!;)

Thankyou ladies...but NO...havent seriously been in a Tescos since the Double points finished earlier in the month...Got a bit of sadness in my life which i just cant seem to deal with.....but had a couple of DtD's and a couple 4000 point wine orders and a few(haha) bottles of glitch priced wine but not much more....All my cards are full for the quarter so unless theres another HB coupon to go with the SB before cut off, (and the need for MORE temp cards) I'll be keeping out of Tescos(until cut-off date) and doing my stuff in Asda which takes every coupon(including internet) i can throw at them.......but thanks for asking....I wish there was something to talk about on here....but i suppose i could go elsewhere and start a commotion(lol)......

Have to say that I'm ever so slightly annoyed now, and I'll be popping in to Mr T's tomorrow to complain.

Is it worth complaining though...You'll just heighten your profile and find it more difficult next time maybe, by drawing attention to yourself...

I would just wait until the next one(it might be much bigger) and go there knowing you are correct.....

    Ive learnt this from experience!!!!!

    Good Luck.
