Hi All, sorry if this is OT but thought you regs would be the best people to ask.

I bought some Bebivita fruit pots for babies. They were on their normal shelf and well within date but there was a yellow reduced sticker with a price of 64p down from £1.29. I noticed after I'd been through the tills that they'd gone through at £1.16.

When I asked about DTD the CS woman said it doesn't apply to reduced items. Is this correct?

I doubt it. Some of them just make stuff up for a pastime on CS desks. In fact come to think of it, I've had DTD on yellow stickered goods.

No read the blue board at CS desk it says if the price is different from what is displayed on the shelf or on the product,if there is a reduced sticker on the item that is what you should be charged and you are due to DTD,she lied to you that is the one area that tesco is consistent with telling porkies.

:mad: Well that's annoyed me. The mistake came up to over £3 before DTD is applied. I've kept the receipts inc. the one for the refund. Think I'll make some more enquiries with HO.

Have I got a chance of getting the difference if I complain do you think or have I lost out? I've kept the receipts, including the one for the refund. On the main receipt she used that to do her sums too so it shows everything.

One for people to remember,

It doesnt matter HOW you are overcharged, if you have paid more than you should of then YOU GET DtD!!

Doesnt matter if its a yellow sticker, any price sticker, yellow reduced label, discountinued label, Bogof, multi-save offer etc if you pay more than the price shown on the product or the shelf then we will give you Double the difference.

The /00 and /01 are serial numbers. The /01 post dates the /00 one, i.e. if was £79.99 originally, but its price went down to £59.99 and a new SEL was printed off. That doesn't mean it will necessarily scan at that mind you.

Thanks for that, very informative!

Any idea what usually happens when you take a product to the check-out & it's barcode has yet to be entered into the system?
(As I've got a strong suspicion that is what will happen if I try and buy one of the WRT160N's :rotfl:)

I doubt they'll give to me for free, but I suppose it can't hurt to have a go :cool:
