Not an overcharge, but with all the other OT chat on this thread I hope it's ok to ask...
What are CS supposed to do if I have just purchased a bread item 2 days past it's best before date?? They just offered me a replacement, they didn't seem to think it was a big a deal as I did
Cheers

I got my simpsons game.. and dtd.
Staff weren't happy about it and suggested I switched the stickers on the packet... until i pointed out that all games are in security cases, so there is no way i could have done it. I was given my DTD and apologised to for the suggestion.
I love DTD!!Hating Hastings Direct!0 -

By the way, I saw in Asda that their PS2 Simpsons game is £12 rolled back from £12.xx, so it is clearly Tesco who is trying to rip off customers by charging £27 for the same game, rather than the £12 sticker being blatently wrong.
thanks for that. I will try one or two more stores as it would be nicer to get it from tescos to get the points, but failing that I will just go to asda. Cant believe the difference in prices from store to store its amazing how much money you can save if you shop about

Slightly more on-topic...
In the last store I visited, I noticed some further confusion in Tesco's pricing regarding the linksys wireless router I mentioned several pages ago (my first ever attempt @ a DTD!)
Linksys have released 2 very similar models (the WAG160N and WRT160N notice the only visual difference is the status LED color).
The Tesco I was in did have 2 seperate SELs for these products, one @ £79.99, the 2nd @ £59.99.
The SEL at £79.99 had a barcode that matched the one found on the WAG160N box as expected.
However, barcode on the £59.99 SEL did NOT match the barcode on the WRT160N box.
Infact, the barcode for the £59.99 SEL was identical to the £79.99 SEL except for one minor difference - it ended in a "/1"
Does anyone have an idea as to what the result of this mismatch would be? what does the "/1" post-fix code indicate on the 2nd SEL?
I'm guessing unless the till database allows for some kind of barcode mapping, when the WRT160N barcode is scanned it isn't going to be picked up at the intended £59.99, and might infact be entirely uncatalogued. (as was the case with the last WRT160N I found in Tesco's - though in that case it had been mistakenly put in with the WAG160N's)
Anyhow - a potencially very profitable DTD that's worth investigating.0 -

If the £59.99 SEL ends in '/1', and the £79.99 SEL ends with '/2', then go for it!
CS obliging you should get DTD of £40.0 -

£59.99 SEL barcode is 062277620-0001/0745883582945/01
£79.99 SEL barcode is 062277620-0001/0745883582945/00
The dodgy £34.97 SEL barcode from several weeks ago that I attempted to use to get a DTD was: 062277620-0001/0745883582945/00 (the same as the present £79.99 SEL barcode)
I wish the Tesco stores around this part of the country had scanners available for customers, but I havn't seen a single one
Just what you want to see when walking through the dvd/games section!
I let my sister 'buy' this one0 -
