The big blue signs don't say "double the difference back" in so many words but about 3/4 of the way down it says something along the lines of "In the unlikely event that we charge you more than the shelf or price label we will give you double the amount back". It is definitely there...

    hoping i get my grade from a d to a b at least.:rotfl: :T :A
OK, I'll give you a C+, with extra marks for nice use of line spacing. ;)

I know I was being a bit @rsey, but I tried to keep my comments light-hearted, (especially in view of you being a new forum member) so I hope you took them in the spirit in which they were intended. :D

I don't think anyone expects to see gramatically perfect posts in a chat forum ,and at the end of the day it's an open forum so you can do pretty much whatever you like (I don't think there's anything in the rules about punctuation  ) but a few full stops and a bit of line spacing just makes it a bit easier to read through posts (...... or maybe it's just me bing a bit slow:p )

What do all these abbreviations mean other than DTD which I understand, there have been others I didn't!!
It's all explained in the very first post:

For clarification SEL stands for Shelf Edge Label, R & R stands for Refund & Retain, DTD stands for Double the Difference

For those few nice people who feel guilty about getting DTD this is from www.msn.co.uk today

Six retailers and tobacco firms have agreed to pay combined fines of £132.3 million after admitting unlawful cigarette pricing practices.

The OFT said in April that the tobacco manufacturers and retailers struck deals that "restricted the ability of each of these retailers to determine its selling prices independently" in a period spanning 2000 to 2003. It added that Gallaher, Imperial Tobacco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Shell, Somerfield and Tesco were involved in the "indirect exchange" of proposed future retail prices between competitors in the years 2001 to 2003.

I think you meant to write:

"I don't think anyone expects to see gramatically perfect posts in a chat forum, ..."

You could also make better use of commas.:p
    I love a nice juicy "kebab"... ;)

OK guys, I think we need to draw a line under this, and leave it up to individual forum members to decide who's being a TOTAL PRATT in this argument (not that it was intended to be an argument) - I mean, who would think of putting a space before a comma, ednotdave !!!!??
To be honest, I expected better from such a long-standing and "respected" member of this community (END OF !!!!) :silenced:

..... and thanks to quoia (in all sincerity) for pointing out my spelling mistake - like I said, I don't expect all posts to be grammatically correct and I'm certainly not here to preach - I just think anything that makes it easier for us forum members to follow each others posts is a positive step (and common courtesy), and shouldn't necessarily be construed as criticism targeted towards any particular forum member. ;)

    Peace
