Me and my mate from work drive all over th e countryand have popped into several Tescos today looking for the planetof the apes dvd (priced £3, going through for £6),after dtd free, managed to get one apiece. But while he was getting his dosh back i was looking at the ps games, and noticed The Simpsons Game for PS2 labelled at £12, oit actually goes through for £27.71 so after dtd is paid back, they pay you £3.71 to take it away. Hope this helps someone

I got my free xbox core last year because a store didn't sort out the 'xbox & game £10 off' SEL issue 2 days after giving away an xbox premium. I found this out afterwards, it was a friend who got the premium! :rotfl:

Shame that 'Avenue of Pleasure' (to quote Basil Fawlty) has been removed, R&Ring was such a fun way to shop. ;)

Those were the days, X Box, PSP, driving round stores at all hours of the night.:rotfl:

Dont think this is the right place to post or not?? I bought a bag of Barts handmade crisp from tesco for £1.49 on opening them I noticed the best before date was 27 dec 2007! I took them back last night and got a really snotty "customer service" woman who just gave me my money back and told me to get another bag. I refused the replacement bag so she gave me another £1.49. I commented that it was lucky I hadnt contacted Trading standards and she just glared at me and walked off. Does anyone know the policy for returning out of date stuff?

I bought the Simpson's game and got "overcharged". It's funny how the policy varies...when she worked out that DTD would pay me to take the game she said that as they had overcharged me I could have a full refund and keep the game (old R and R policy).
Still a free game thanks OP so not complaining:beer:
Make £10 per day in July £45.48/£310
    June £232.66, May £310.36, April £310.19, March £287.32, February £250.18, January £257.24
    Swagbucks in 2015 £65/£150
  • the blancmange offer isn't running at my local store SEl is 66p :-(. Noticed Hovis bread making mixes are 33p and 38p, next price level up is tesco own at 57p.

Yes you return it and get your money back and maybe get offered another 1 free.
Oh wait that is what happened

Why threaten to go to Trading Standards?
.That branch will sell millions of items of food each year, if a few ood items get through their due dilligence systems then whats the problem. Its called human error.
  • I too got the Simpsons game for DTD - excellent spot, cheers very much!

CS: "Did you not notice (the overcharge) when you were buying it?"
    Me(sporting a wry smile): "....no."

Though tbh, I think next time it'll be: "With your DTD policy, it's not in my interest to notice!"

I'm off to another nearby Tesco to attempt to buy 2 of them at the same time :D (along with planet of the apes DVD if I can find it...)

Thanks for this info. Just been to my local Tesco and done the same. They didn't even question the DTD. My son is very happy with his game and I'm even happier that I was paid to take it away :j
