As Tesco loses out mostly on 'deals' it would make sense for the policy to exclude temporary 2 for 1 or buy 1 get one free offers.

If the refund policy only applied to misprices of goods which had a stable price the chances of being caught out are massively reduced.

If you were advising Mr Tesco, what how would you suggest he keep the 'customer friendly' image whilst apologising for over charging (probably the worst thing a tradesperson can do)?

I'm sorry that it is complete tosh.

During R&R there were always attempts by staff to wriggle.

    Same is true for DTD.

Just do this - "The Blue Board says if I am charged more than the price on display then I get back DTD".

CS -"But it's in the sale".

    "The Blue Board says.."

    etc etc

Tesco removed R&R IMHO because of the console fiasco - DTD was seen as a customer friendly alternative where they would not lose so much money because their PI is useless.

The real problem is not the customer - they simply cannot get their act together with Price Integrity.

    What does that precisely mean?
Items that have been tagged with a 'reduced' sticker?
or products that have had their SEL prices reduced through some kind of special offer?

If it's the latter, surely such a change would totally ruin DTD hunting

As others have said I do not think that the information was correct and the reality is DTD stays as it always was/is.

I would suggest that even if Mr T had a will to try and amend the DTD Policy to exclude specific categories of goods he would have great difficulty. For it to be legal and to continue with DTD on everything else there would need to be a clear and unambiguous definition of what was either included or alternatively excluded from the policy. Trying to produce signs and information boards that achieved that without running into a short story would, I believe, be pretty much impossible for Mr T.

I wonder if anyone can help me.
I have noticed lots of ood yellow sels in the drinks section of Tesco - but they are at least a week ood, and were quite a few of them.
Other booze sat nearby had in-date yellow sels.
Has anyone tried these ood whiskeys etc ? I know Tescos often extend their offers, but:-
    a) I cannot see why if they are extended they didn't change all these sels - are loads, not just a couple
    b) I cannot think that even a really inefficient PI team would leave out quite so many oods by accident.

If they are still around today I may risk it - it is just returning strong alcohol to cs if the price is right would ruin my reputation :A

In my local Tesco this morning I picked up a box of "Pearce Duff's" Blancmange, 4 sachets in the box, 1 strawberry, 1 Raspberry, 1 Chocolate and 1 Vanilla flavour after BigMummaF on July Grocery Challenge said they were on special. Anyway, on the shelf says 14p, got to checkout and they came up at 66p, got them to put through at 14p as that was all I was buying and didn't realise I could have gone to CS for double refund. You live and learn.:o

Neslte Yorkie bars - SEL 36p but going through the till for 48p. DTD gives you the Yorkie for only 24p.

    Found in Tesco Aberdeen Danestone.

Bought six Bottles of Blossom Hill Zinfandel this evening.

Price on shelf £4.98 charged £5.49 at the till.

Bottles of wine are currently 25% off when you buy six so they take that into account when they give you the difference but i still got a refund of about £4.50.

    Great as it's my favourite.

Still have to fught ho for the last thing that store refused DTD on though.

Works out at nearly a free bottle of wine i got, yum yum.

Funny as i was in the disney store earlier and was charged less than i expected.
  • Soreen [ Cinnamon & Raisin / Plum ] currently on bogof, which is all well & good. However, conflicting prices exist on various SELs large labels are 89p, small 79p.

Not a fantastic DTD, but coupled with the bogof it works out @ 34p per loaf - and they're very tasty
  • Has anyone had any experience of doing internet shopping with Mr T? Back along I ordered 3x bread rolls on some silly offer, and they substituted so it would have cost me an arm and a leg. I returned 2, got credited for only 1, and sent 3 emails about 4 days apart.
In the end I phoned and spoke to a manager who was rude, but refunded the quid odd that I was owed, but treated me like a silly naughty girl. The amount was less than a pound, but I was so incensed that I haven't shopped there online since.
I went to the co-op last week and got overcharged 48p for some cat food, they gave me back the money ok, asda overcharged me by £2 for some fruit not link-saving (they refunded me the £2) .... I'm starting to feel so tired by shopping and always having to double check things, I haven't been in a supermarket and been charged the right amount for a month (since I've been checking). My son says I'm embarrassing, and I think he could have a point - standing in a queue to get a refund of 20p is a bit daft (Morissons this week). How do you balance the 'get a life mum' comments with being a DFW?
