So am I correct in assuming that when shopping you write down the price of EVERY item when you take it from the shelf and then check it against you till receipt and also make a note of all BOGOFS,etc!

Some people write a list (just add prices to your shopping list as you put the item in the trolley, or add extra items & prices at the bottom of a 'basics' list). You only have to add B for BOGOF, and '2for£3' for a 2 for £3 offer, for instance.

Others (myself included) memorise prices in their head - which isn't as hard as it sounds if you tend to buy many of the same things each visit.

When you get used to looking at Tesco prices day in, day out, you do get to know most of them, so you only need to memorise a price if you see something different (a price change) or if you buy something for the first time.

    It's brain-training for nowt! :D

P.S. Just to get the thread back on topic, I bought a Paddling Pool yesterday which was mispriced, a nice accidental find:

Tesco 10ft Arch Pool (yellow SEL said £19.97, down from £29.97). Scanned at £29.97.

Got a nice £20 DTD and they changed the SEL pretty sharpish. In another store they had the price correct at £29.97 so I think the first store had put the reduced SEL out early.

Hopefully someone may find another store has done the same?

Tesco Internet Phone FF128.. 1pence.. I thought I was on to a winner here with an out of date sel of 17/06/08.. priced @ £29.xx - £19.xx.. but when I scanned it.. it came up at 1p  .. I naturally took all 6 & bought them.. Girl on the till (No self scan) was gobsmacked, so I just gave her a story of stuff I've had for 1p & its Tescos way of getting rid of stuff... I then found another 1 mixed in with new stock in another store & bought that aswell.. This is old stock so make sure you pick up the FF128 with £5.00 free call time included.. Barcode... 5051140246693..

    Happy Days :D

went into mr t`s today to do the monthly shop ( armed with notw voucher), we were also looking for a mobile phone for our youngests birthday next week, they have an offer that if you spend more than £40 instore you can get £20 off a phone that is priced at more than £50, we picked an lg phone, (http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.202-2784.aspx) and cashier rang it all up, but the discount of £20 was not taken off.
so off to cs with receipt and after about 5 mins of carefully scrutinising the receipt, she handed over dtd of £40- my first ever !

I was told by the staff in the electrical dept. at Long Eaton that this IS now compatible with Vista and updated software can be downloaded from tesco.net

I have not tried it though.

Bought a bag of 8 Tesco Gala apples as they were on Tesco's fruit promotion for 85p. However, they went throught the till at £1.79.
Went back to the shelf before going to C.S. Sure enough, others the same as mine in box above the labels. Feeling more confident...
S.A. handed me 94p, so had to ask, "What about DTD?"
"Oh, I'll have to check the shelf for that." (Does that mean she's have taken my word for it if I hadn't asked for DTD?!)
She was gone ages, but eventually returned and gave me my DTD of £1.88. Mr T. paid me to take his apples away!
Apparently they were in 2 places with the 2 different prices, but £1.79 SEL should have been removed and the tills altered to 85p.
Worse things will have happened in the world today...

Got very confused in Tesco at the weekend big display of packs of Pampers Babywipes said BOGOF on it, £2.35 per pack. Round the corner another display of the same product said 3 packs for £3. Went through the til at the BOGOF price and I had great difficulty convincing assistant that I wanted 3 for £3 as it was better value for the same thing. He seemed to think that because 2 packs for £2.35 was less money than £3 I should want the BOGOF offer. Not sure if I should have argued for any more money back, as they were on sale at the 2 different prices.
