  • Visited a couple of other local stores, and it seems that the bogof Soreen fruit loafs as mentioned earlier seem to be mispriced at a lot of stores.

Okay, only a small one , but just in case you are buying books to use your tillspits smile.gif. I bought two books today, both stickered for £4, but the Charlie Higson book 'Hurricane Gold' went through for £5 and I had to bite my lip at the till wink.gif. Got my £2 DtD from CS biggrin.gif.

They had loads of copies in my store, it is a gold coloured book for 10-11yr olds smile.gif. HTH someone.

    Poundsinbucks x

PS Before anyone asks, DtD = Double the Difference, which is what you are entitled to when Tesco overcharge you at the till. You go with receipt in hand to CS and if need be, remind them of their policy rolleyes.gif.

  • Got charged £6 yesterday for Planet of the apes dvd. sticker on the front says £3. So will work out free when you go to CS :)

Couldn't find Planet of the apes, however, I did find numerous DVDs with conflicting prices.

    "Bad Boys" some labelled @ £3, others £4. Scanned @ £4. (bought & DTD'd)
    "Kung fu Hustle" (good film!) some labelled @ £3, others £4. Scanned @ £4. (bought & DTD'd)
"Shrek The Third" some labelled @ £7, others £8. Presumably scanned @ £8. (didn't check)

Oddly enough, soon after I left the display a woman came up and started taking notes of all the prices. She then took several photos of the display with her phone....

She didn't look like staff, though I didn't have the balls to ask what she was upto.... price comparator from Sainsburys maybe
Or perhaps a local paper doing a story on Tesco knowingly & repeatedly over-charging!!

CS refunded me the DTD of £4 without any hesitation. (didn't even check the stand to remove any other incorrectly marked goods)
She also failed to mark the receipt..... so nothing realy stopping me from going back tomorrow and doing the exact same thing!..... except the law I suppose :D

The DTD refund process doesn't seem to be very well structured at the moment, what are the staff *supposed* to do after issuing a DTD refund?
More importantly - if you had the opportunity, would you try to claim a DTD multiple times, or is that crossing the line?

Hope I've done this right, if not please correct me as this is first time I've done this.

Not sure if this is everywhere or just my local but at Tesco in Potters Bar this evening I went to buy some Tescos wensleydale cheese which the shelf price said was on offer at two for £2.29, anyway having paid for my shopping I realised that they had'nt taken off the mutibuy so I went to customer services who checked the shelf price and gave me back DTD - worked out at about BOGOF in the end :p
HTH someone and I haven't confused everybody!

There's nothing to stop you going back and doing it again, but best not use the same CS staff unless you want to raise your profile.

What most CSA's do is to write on the receipt, although as you've found out, not all do.

Finally, if you mean multiples of the same item in one go, there's no limit imposed by the policy itself, although some stores "try" to put a limit on it by having a hand written note at the CS desk stating only 1,2, whatever, items refunded, although they would have needed to have told you that restriction at the point of sale.

If you mean have I gone back later for the same item because they didn't remove the SEL, I may have, once or twice........;)

but in the Hackney Tesco (Morning Lane) last night night they had an entire cage of Sharwoods and Lloyd Grossman curry sauces reduced to silly prices

I got Sharwoods Yellow Curry for about 34p and a Lloyd Grossman one for about 80p.

There's also lots of Tesco Finest cooking sauces and some mircowavable rice!!

I got my free xbox core last year because a store didn't sort out the 'xbox & game £10 off' SEL issue 2 days after giving away an xbox premium. I found this out afterwards, it was a friend who got the premium! :rotfl:

Shame that 'Avenue of Pleasure' (to quote Basil Fawlty) has been removed, R&Ring was such a fun way to shop. ;)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Me and my mate from work drive all over th e countryand have popped into several Tescos today looking for the planetof the apes dvd (priced £3, going through for £6),after dtd free, managed to get one apiece. But while he was getting his dosh back i was looking at the ps games, and noticed The Simpsons Game for PS2 labelled at £12, oit actually goes through for £27.71 so after dtd is paid back, they pay you £3.71 to take it away. Hope this helps someone
