Yesterday got Johnsons kids suncream SPF 40 SEL said £4.99 half price went through at £9.99. BUT I was greedy and bought two then a new offer kicked in BOGOF so I didn't bother asking for DTD as It worked out the same. DAMN
Look out for all suncreams still with the half price offer exp 1/070 -
bought some half price shoes today, got charged full price. only got the half refund. quoted them their policy only to be told does not apply to reduced sale items. i called customer services who said the policy had changed a year ago and the c/s desk were correct. i said their old policy was on display and read it out and i was asked to return to the store and i was given a full refund as a goodwill gesture. the c/s were polite about it and did not even wait for head office to call them back. apparently new notices have not yet reached the stores.A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0

does not apply to reduced sale items
What does that precisely mean?
Items that have been tagged with a 'reduced' sticker?
or products that have had their SEL prices reduced through some kind of special offer?
If it's the latter, surely such a change would totally ruin DTD hunting0 -
well thats what i said to head office too. if clothing or grocery items are half price but charged full price then they are the same but she didnt have an answer, only that the policy changed a year ago on reduced sale items, she could not explain further and had to put me on hold to find that out. perhaps an employee on here can find out and may explain the mysterious disappearance of the policy by the c/s desk. i searched for the one today but only saw one by the store entrance. the cs assistant said the policy does not state that fact it excludes sale items (which i had never heard of hence calling head office like people have said to do on here). the cs lady kindly gave my money back and the head office were going to do so for goodwill but i had to really fight for it. any clarification would be most appreciated.A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0

As Tesco loses out mostly on 'deals' it would make sense for the policy to exclude temporary 2 for 1 or buy 1 get one free offers.
If the refund policy only applied to misprices of goods which had a stable price the chances of being caught out are massively reduced.
If you were advising Mr Tesco, what how would you suggest he keep the 'customer friendly' image whilst apologising for over charging (probably the worst thing a tradesperson can do)?0 -

The policy is clearly stated on either the big blue boards or on the A5 displays at the tills. There are no exclusions. "If you are charged more than the price shown on the product or the shelf we will give you double the difference". With all due respect to OP, and please don't take this as an "attack" anything else CS say, if that board is behind them, is just trying to fob you off. They know the policy, acting surprised when you point it out is just embarassing."Life was easier when I didn't have a clue"0 -
Yes, it's just the store & Dundee both not knowing the policy, as usual.
What did change over a year ago was R&R ended and was replaced by DTD. It's not very hard to remember that, we customers manage quite well and the 'new' (Feb 2007!) policy isn't rocket science after all.
I had a similar problem in a store recently and had to phone Dundee. Young lad insisted the policy 'had changed & the store were right'. Knowing he was 100% wrong, I persisted and asked why it's still on the blue board as a promise?
Young lad on the phone said he'd just check with his Supervisor...cue a long pause on the phone followed by young lad apologising and informing me 'it IS still the policy!'. Wow really? :rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
