Found this price tag for this product

Spotting that £34.97 is well below the RRP of the product (typically retails for £60+ online) I checked the Tesco till price.... £79.97 !

At this point I was getting excited.... if they honour the DTD policy, I will be getting £90 for each of them I buy!!

Hastily picked up all they had (2), bought them, then circled around to the customer services desk.
After a few minutes waiting, they came back with an entirely different product (linksys wireless G router) and attempted to convince me that this was what was priced @ £34.97.
I pointed out that the barcode on the £34.97 label, and the 2 items I had purchased was identical.
The lady serving me was obviously out of her depth, and called for help from one of the more senior electricals staff.
He was of no more use, offering me a refund and advice on what alternatives they could offer.
I mentioned the DTD policy, but neither was willing to:
    a) give me the product at the lower price,
    b) give me double the difference back.

I eventually gave in, and got a refund - as I certainly didn't want to be stuck with 2 routers I don't want or need.
After having read other posts in this thread, i'm regretting giving up - and am stuck wondering if I may well have got my money if I'd been more persistent.

I confess to being a noob @ this DTD exploiting lark - Have I just missed out on the motherload of a DTD?

Either way, I'm going to be keeping a keen eye out for these kinds of fekups in the future, as it's immense fun trying to get 1-up on Tesco =)

In this kind of situation you should call the Tesco customer service in Dundee - either on your mobile or ask the CS staff to use their phone.

In the R&R days I did the latter on one occasion - asked Dundee to explain the policy to the CS assistant.

    Same principle for DTD.

You were shafted my friend - you live and learn.

    Good spot though.

You've got 28 days to return the goods to them under their own policy, so you didn't have to take the refund there and then, I've previously refused their offer of just the difference and returned goods to anther store later. As the dude says above, politely ask them to verify the policy with their manager as your mum got overcharged on some cheese last week down the road and she got DtD, didn't she......

I've called Dundee from a CSD myself in the past and handed their phone back to them to confirm their own policy.

Today in the gardening section of my local I picked up a childrens garden set, it was a pink tin containing a sun hat and apron. It had a yellow SEL saying it was half price from £6.00 to £3.00. I was charged £6.00 so went to customer services and was given back £6.00 without any questions. The offer is on until July sometime and there were other sets reduced but I only spotted this misprice because I didn't have much other shopping. Not sure if this will work in other stores? HTH someone, not posted on this thread before.

Today I bought some playsand, which they had for £4.97. Same price as in the gardencentres, so I thought I'd save myself an extra trip.
Came to the till and they charged me £1.97 instead of £4.97! Bargain!

I am pretty busy so popped into my local Tesco for some ready meals that I could just whack in the microwave

Indian Meal for 2- Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Massala, Bombay potatoes, Naan Bread and loads of pilau rice £5.80

Went through till at £6.50, £1.40 DtD back, tasty :)

Yes I had a long arguement b4 with Tescos about leaflets....
they would not honour a price difference they had of a product in a leaflet.
Even reported them to advertising agency

This isn't DTD but had a till spit for finish quantum tabs 24's and would not normally have bought (just under £7:eek: ) except also needed some tabs and would get 175 pts. Imagine my surprise and joy when I checked my receipt and was only charged £3 something - price for 12. This was in New Malden store.

The misprice is was talking about is Flora buttery - 66p on leaflet (cam with free local newspaper) and 84p in store.

Worth a try if there is the customer services person is nice, though not worth the risk if you don't need the product. A lot of stores are so mean that they ntry to get out of genuine misprices let alone this one.

Came across the same 84p (advertised as Half price on £1.68 - confirmed 84p on self scanner) at 2 Extras quite close to each other (Toton & Long Eaton - just in Nottinghamshire ??) and did try the "wrong price" at CS showing the leaflet at Toton on my way out with a couple of tubs.

A manager was called who said something like "leaflet prices can only be advisory" and "it does say CORRECT AT TIME OF GOING TO PRESS and the price has changed since then".

All I was offered was a full refund - so I took it - returning the Flora since I wasn't desperate for it.

A couple of days later went to the Mickleover store in Derby ....

FLORA BUTTERY - 66p (advertised as £1.32 - Half Price)

Price check scanner confirmed 66p so bought some !!!!
(would have been "nice" if it went through at 88p :rotfl: )
